I've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.

There's a genuine moral dilemma in this serial, which I like a lot. The ending is painful and wonderful. Also, Paul Darrow is in it, and that makes me happy.

It's a shame this one's been retconned by "The Christmas Invasion" and UNIT dating whatever: problems arise with the first manned British rocket to Mars. Admittedly, this is probably the weakest story of season 7, but it does have its moments: Spacesuit!Three snarking at aliens, the Brig leading a classic UNIT shoot 'em up, and Liz moonlighting as a stunt driver then pwning her kidnappers.

I love this one for the parallel Earth where UNIT is evil. The story wouldn't have been nearly as good had it been a regular "You've got to listen to me, you're doing something terrible!" plot without the parallel universe serving up the "what might be" element. Great stuff.

The only person with a Northern Ireland accent I've seen on Doctor Who's in this one; he threatens the Master and gets eaten by a plastic chair. I've never been so proud of one of my countrymen. *happy tear*

I don't know if the Third Doctor and Delgado!Master ever get slashier than they do here, what with the Master panicking because he might have killed the Doctor and being all worried about him.

Also, Jo singlehandedly ends a hostage situation by stealing someone's gun. This is the serial that made me love her.

The best of the multi-Doctor stories, if only because Two and Three are like a nattering couple that's been divorced and then forced to go on holiday with each other. This is the kind of serial that tempts me to go search for Doctor/Doctor slash even though I know that I really have no desire to read it.

Also, the Brig is awesome in his befuddlement about Two's reappearance.

"Well not so much one of them as one of use. One of me to be precise."

"Oh no no no! I'm sorry my dear, I hate to be contrary, but I can see he's a little bit confused, poor old chap, and I do feel you should have the correct explanation, you don't mind do you?"

"Yes."

"I didn't think you would. You see Jo, I may call you Jo, mayn't I? He is one of me."

Three takes off his belt and uses it as a whip against the Master.

I... Yeah. I don't even know what to say about that.

Also, the Master saying that he doesn't want to kill the Doctor by blowing up his ship, because rocket fire at long range "lacks that personal touch".

Jo also helps the Doctor to escape by talking non-stop. I love her so much.

And the Master is reading "War of the Worlds". <3
