Old School Doctor Who Episodes Love Meme

I've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.

If any have been missed, feel free to stick them on at the end - I've just realised The Myth Makers isn't there...

The only person with a Northern Ireland accent I've seen on Doctor Who's in this one; he threatens the Master and gets eaten by a plastic chair. I've never been so proud of one of my countrymen. *happy tear*

Awesome Jo! They tell her to stay put and she's all "Oh, okay," and then promptly runs off to save the Doctor from the Master! The fact the Master shows up! To kill people with plastic flowers!

Jo and the Master both debut in style, and I love the Doctor's interactions with either. Bonus points for the Doctor's expression when he gets reminded the Master was better at school.

Jo's introduction!! I love this story so much; Jo Grant is probably my favorite companion, and I have a crazymad love for Three and UNIT. Not to mention that Delgado is my favorite of the Masters, so seeing his introduction was awesome as well.

So watching this was absolutely lovely, and had some of the most entertaining (I thought) killer Autons with the inflatable chair and troll doll and daffodil.

Definitely a favorite of mine :)

Okay, so I'm not the world's biggest fan of Yates or Jo Grant. The actors are fine, but I'm not always thrilled by their characters. However, they are the Everyman of the show for the next few years, and probably measure up under fire (literately and figuratively) much better than any normal person would. Jo means well, but the old adage about good intentions paving the road to hell could be applied to her character. Yates is just a little bland after Hawkins. (What can I say but that I'm a Paul Darrow fan!)

Autons again. Scary again. But we have our first Time Lord from Gallifrey in the Third Doctor era appearing to warn Three about the Master. (Can see just why Mr. Finch called them dusty old Senators--the Time Lord in question looks like an MP or business man of the old school. Acts like a jerk too. )

Roger Delgado as the Master is just wonderful casting. And to this day, we have no idea exactly why the Master hates and wants to kill the Doctor, or at least to have him as his catspaw.

Decent writing by Robert Holmes, even if the SFX isn't up to good depictions of the monsters and the evil happenings. Pertwee's comedic background is too obvious in the telephone cord scene.
I like this because of the Master and it's a Three story.
