I've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.

For some help navigating, this wiki page has the serials in order.

If any have been missed, feel free to stick them on at the end - I've just realised The Myth Makers isn't there...

I love this one for the parallel Earth where UNIT is evil. The story wouldn't have been nearly as good had it been a regular "You've got to listen to me, you're doing something terrible!" plot without the parallel universe serving up the "what might be" element. Great stuff.

One of the very best; I love alternate histories.

Also: hey, people who've seen Inferno, why is there no Section Leader Elizabeth Shaw/Scientist!Petra fic? Don't use their firey doom as a reason.

The Sideslip world idea was so interesting and inventive. After seven seasons of the show, they were still coming up with all these brand new ideas, and I thought it was wonderful. Plus, Evil!Brig! AND Evil!Brenton.

THE SOUND OF THIS PLANET SCREAMING OUT ITS RAGE.

OMG, best story ever and I really don't like Three most of the time.

The whole thing's awesome, Nick Courtney's brilliant as the petty, bullying Brigade Leader (and clearly having a whale of a time) and Caroline John as Section Leader Shaw is made of GUH. Petra and Greg are great too.

Also, I love that Liz's last moment on screen is laughing at Three/Brig being very Three/Brig.

The DVD (which I watched for the first time just this last week) is amazing, the pictures look so crisp (except for that annoying muzzle flash thing, but eh), particularly the lovely title cards.

Whatever happened to Don Houghton anyway? One more story and then he vanished.

I *heart* your icon, btw. AU stories that are well-written allow us to explore what could have been. I find them amongst the most fascinating of motifs in science fiction.

Carl Sagan + timey-wimey stuff = best icon ever, yes? :D

And yeah - that's why I adore them. Change one thing (or... several things), and everything goes kaplooey!

My fave Three story, probably my fave Classic Who story, and maybe my fave DW story of all time. This is one of the few times in the series that the idea of dimensional travel is brought out and dealt with. As my fave concepts in science fiction are time and dimensional travel, this story is right down my alley. That all the main characters, with the except of the Doctor, get to show their acting chops by playing vastly different characters is just awesome--actors love stuff like this. Seven parts is not too long for this story. Good example of the use of hubris.

Only regret about this is that there is no real good-bye for Liz Shaw, nor did she ever get to travel by TARDIS. The Doctor should look her up and give her a short trip.

And of course the Primords looked rather silly.
