I've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.

For some help navigating, this wiki page has the serials in order.

If any have been missed, feel free to stick them on at the end - I've just realised The Myth Makers isn't there...

I love this one. The Master posing as a vicar and then indulging his love of truly fabulous robes, as later seen in The TV Movie... the Brig's grumpy "in my helicopter?" at being told that Team UNIT have nicked it to go demon hunting... Mike Yates asking the Brig to dance and the ever-so-British response...

There is no more awesome sight than the Master conducting a Black Mass. Dude. (And he twists around Crowley's Law of Thelema for his own purposes too. *is all occult!geeky*)

NO BETTER SERIAL THAN THIS ONE. I have a super-long review on my journal that won't fit, so I'm just going to PICSPAM U ALL. :)

BRIG: BEST GAYEST UNIFORM EVAR.

THE MASTER: THROWING THE HORNS.

BENTON AND YATES: FLYING A HELICOPTER

BENTON: WORST TROUSERS EVER OH NOES

VICAR!MASTER: OH MY GOD HIS GLASSES

BURN THE WITCH

BENTON: ACTION MAN PROOF

THREE, BENTON, AND YATES: IN CHARGE

JO: SAVING THE WORLD...WITH LOVE.

FANCY A DANCE, BRIGADIER?

But alas, the Brig is flattered, but would prefer a pint. Off to the pub, and we're done!

It's the best Master moment EVAR.

(And thanks! There were so many that just didn't have the love they needed. If there are still some with only a couple of comments later, I'll come back to them. The popular ones can fend for themselves, heh).

James Bond in Wiltshire. With extra occult goodness.

(Now trying to recall if the Brig wears a kilt with his dress duds.)

I absolutely adore this one. The Master is great, the ending is so very priceless, and of course: "Jenkins! Chap with the wings there, five rounds rapid." :D

This is certainly one of my fave Three serials, and to think that Jon thought of it as his fave is just added coolness. Not to mention that I know one of the film editors on this particular episode and that he's going to be at TimeGate as a guest is just super!

I love the juxtaposition of magic and science throughout, with much of the magic being of course just advanced technology. Though one does have to wonder about Olive, the pagan lady. Jo of course believes in all this "superstitious rot" as the Doctor might say, and he is of course beautifully brilliant in his logic and rational mind-set.

Alas, the SFX are not quite up to telling the story, but they do an adequate job for the period.

The Master standing in for the local vicar was quite his usual nasty piece of work, wanting power over all the Earth.

The classic line about 'chap with wings, five rounds rapid' seems to be what the average fan remembers about this serial. It is a rather good line, very clever. :)
