The Semi-Annual delurking/tell Doyle things/help me procrastinate, bitches Post

Anybody feel like delurking? Or pretending to lurk so you can delurk and comment?

I would like to know any of the following: (unnumbered since I don't expect people to answer them all)
- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?
- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?
- show off your favourite icon.
- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.
- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it. (*) (Note that this is a footnote mark, not a single pierced nipple boobicon.)
- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.
- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)
- who's the best character in The Simpsons? This would be a poll if I weren't lazy. (It's Reverend Lovejoy, of coure, but I would also accept Sideshow Mel or the gestalt entity Carl-and-Lenny.)
- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?
- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.

(*) My emotionally crippling moments: I mentioned this when [livejournal.com profile] miggy did her meme a few weeks back, but the Simpsons episode Lisa's Substitute tears me up every single time. Argh, the note, "this is everything you need to know" and it just says "you are Lisa Simpson." I have to watch that episode every time it's on TV. I own it on DVD, I've seen it maybe 30 times, but if it's on TV I'm compelled to sit and watch for that one moment.

And don't get me started on Lilo and Stitch, because then my rampant immaturity will be out there for all the world to see.

ETA: I'm off to bed so if you don't get an immediate response, remember your hitchhiker's guide advice and don't panic. I'll be answering these tomorrow. But keep your towel on standby just in case.

- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?

Connie and Carla Do L.A.. But I can't decide whether I love it or hate it. I think I mostly love it for the sibcest involving Mulder David Duchovney's character.

- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?

...Yes? There are many. Elizabeth Weir/CJ Cregg being my current top Crossover OTP That Must Be Written NOW!

- show off your favourite icon.
'tis used.

- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.

There are a LOT that I love like whoa. Current favorite is BtVS S5, which made both me and my little sister cry when we rewatched it. With the sacrifice and the jumping and the oh-god-i-love-them-all waaaah! She saved the world a lot.

- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it.

I'm with you on Lilo and Stitch, though I'm not sure if this is what you mean -- the part where Stitch is left all alone in the rain and there's the photo of Lilo's parents? Makes me sob like a baby, oh yes.

- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.

I know I'm not alone in this, but I google really hideous ooc PWP for wank material.

- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)

Dammit, Serenity is a given? Well, the new seasons of House and VMars... Bones, sort of, but only because I adore guest starrage way too much and David Boreanaz! Walking around in the sunlight!

- who's the best character in The Simpsons? This would be a poll if I weren't lazy. (It's Reverend Lovejoy, of coure, but I would also accept Sideshow Mel or the gestalt entity Carl-and-Lenny.)

It's been a long, long time since I've seen it, but Lisa, or maybe Ned Flanders.

- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?

In West Wing, Laurie.
In Stargate, SG-1: Robert Kinsey.
In Buffy: the Vampire Slayer: The Lesbians In the Bronze from "Smashed"
In Angel: Jack 'n' Sam, the tragic gay lovers from "Provider"

- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.

Election! I long for good Tammy fic. I long for any Tammy fic, especially Tammy/Faith fic I haven't written myself.

Kaylee/Fred icon, eee!

For me it's the Lilo and Stitch bit where he's in the woods at night with The Ugly Duckling and he's waiting for his family to come and find him like in the story and he looks up and says "I'm lost..." I can't watch that bit without dissolving into tears. Ever.

I saw the sequel this weekend, was pleasantly surprised to enjoy it as much as the first one.

Bones, sort of, but only because I adore guest starrage way too much and David Boreanaz! Walking around in the sunlight!

In my head Bones stars DB as a not-unlike-Angel forensic pathologist. And Boone from Lost is his assistant. They have wacky mishaps and fight crime.

In Angel: Jack 'n' Sam, the tragic gay lovers from "Provider"

Ooh, yes.

::delurks::

- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?

Hm. I kind of hated The Poseidon Adventure with a firey passion. "I, Gene Hackman, am a Great Man. Therefore everyone else sucks, and you should follow me!" He was as bad as William Shatner and Charleton Heston. Ugh.

I re-watched Lost in Translation and loved it all over again.

- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?

::thinks hard::
I don't read much fic anymore. There should be Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell fic, though. Nothing sexual. I'd just love to read more of that 'verse. I guess that's not very cracktastic. I kinda dig canon pairings.

- show off your favourite icon.
I love all my icons. DONT MAKE ME CHOOSE
This is my newest pretty one. It says dong(3) ma(5)?, which means, "Do you understand?" They say it in Firefly all the time.

- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.

I have such a bad memory re: pop culture. I don't remember much before a couple of years ago, unless I really go fishing in the back of my brain. Therefore, I am saying that the Firefly season finale was pretty kickass. Actually, the Star Trek: Next Generation one was awesome as well.

- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it. (*) (Note that this is a footnote mark, not a single pierced nipple boobicon.)

Dancer in the Dark leaves me totally debilitated. I've cried in all the original Star Wars movies. American Beauty, Shawshank Redemption, The Lion King, White Fang -- TONS of movies make me cry.
Laugh? The Aristocrats made me hurt from laughing so hard. So did God of Cookery (by and starring the same guy who made Shaolin Soccer).

- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.

I like reasonably well-written Mary Sue fic.

- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)

Veronica Mars season 2. Battlestar Galactica on Friday. New Doctor Who in December. Goblet of Fire, whenever that comes out.

- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?

Cho Chang. Martian Man Hunter.

- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.

I think that goes under the Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell answer. I've been into 19th-century lit lately, so anything in that style would be cool. And I'd love to read Justice League Unlimited fic, actually. I haven't gone looking for it.

He was as bad as William Shatner and Charleton Heston. Ugh.

Maybe I'm overtired, but my brain went to a SHatner/Heston RPS place, and now I will never be clean again.

My housemate [livejournal.com profile] marymac has a copy of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell in her room; I must remember to steal it.

Cho Chang. Martian Man Hunter.

OTP! (It honestly just took me about three minutes to realise you meant J'Onn J'Onzz and not Marvin the Martian from the Bugs Bunny cartoons.)

That's a gorgeous icon.

Last movie I *really* loved: probably Sin City.

is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?

It hurts me deeply that people aren't writing more DEBS/Jossverse crossovers. Lesbian spies in plaid skirts, people. Lesbian supervillains. Where is the love, people? Also, Faith/Nadia-from-Alias should be done, too.

Also, I would give my symbolic left nut for some more Starbuck/Roslin or Starbuck/Tigh.

confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.

I did a whole post about how I love unplanned pregnancy fic when the unplanned are the responsible adults, and not like, "OMG, Buffy R having Spikez twin vampire babyeez!" There is my shame. I still like the idea of Spymommy chowing down on Cheetos while Marshall tries to give Jack parenting tips.

what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about?
I'm oddly jazzed for Narnia, the fact there's going to be a sequel to the Cate Blanchett Elizabeth is very cool, and I really hope Kitchen Confidential doesn't suck, cuz the book was awesome.

who's the best character in The Simpsons?
I kind of love Bumblebee Man.

obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom? All my minor characters are well loved; I just want more Laura Roslin love. Where love = "lots of fic with smut in it that doesn't involve Edward James Olmos's ass, because that just makes me think of the Family Guy about EJO and that kind of wrecks smut."

And I end with another pimp for DEBS: Canon lesbians! Hot canon lesbians! Devin Aoki! Scud! Why this isn't a major femslash fandom, or at least being crossed over like hotcakes, I do not know.... [/whine]

To my shame I've only seen the BSG TV movie, and that was a while ago; she's the hot messiah-president who was the hot mother from Donnie Darko, yes? I need to catch up on the series, but she definitely needs more love. For hotness and messianic qualities alone.

*googles DEBS* I think I might have seen half of that at a con. Must rent it see the rest. The cover makes it look like Bring It On Goes to Spy School, which I am all in favour of.

See, I have never seen Blake 7 for some fairly complex reasons but I want to because of all those channel4 and Sky1 best of lists that have shown me the series finale so many times.

I need to go to bed, I am stopping.

Ooh, I've only seen a few episodes of Blake's 7 (though I'll be buying the boxsets when I have the money) but based solely on what [livejournal.com profile] lasultrix has told me about it, I need to see that finale too.

And you've seen Serenity, h0r. *pokes in jealousy*

POTW - best finale ever.
POTW makes me bawl though I still love Dalek even more. Best 45 minutes ever.
The fic I would die of joy if I found it: Two/Jamie/Zoe meet up with Nine/Rose/Jack and there's Daleks and mucho time travel and locations and possibly some Iccccccce Warriors too.

on 2005-09-06 10:22 pm (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] doyle_sb4.livejournal.com
POTW makes me cry like nothing else. Emergency Program One, and Jack's "kinda figured that" and holding out his arms, and "my Doctor" and the kiss, and the look on the Doctor's face when he looks down at his hand and realises he's going to regenerate, and "so was I"... and then the BBC had to go and show shippy vids on Confidential and made me worse.

That fic would be *brilliant*. I have nowhere near a good enough handle on Two to write it, but it would be a thing of magnificence.

Numbered, because I number things, it's what I do.
1: March of the Penguins. Wait, no, Blade Runner and A Very Long Engagement on video.
2: I think every bizarre pairing and AU that my limited imagination can come up with has been written by now.
3: This is me! When I went to Scotland! There's Loch Ness! I swam in it with drunken Australian backpackers, yes I did.
4: Last five minutes of all seven Buffy seasons and all five Angel seasons were entertaining. (I'm sorry, this is not new information to you at all, is it?)
5: Tara getting killed. Didn't help that they showed her death scene in the "Previously on Buffy" recaps for the next ten episodes or so. (Of course, being a Stoic Man of Stoicness, fiction rarely affects me beyond, "ah, that's a shame. Poor imaginary person. Oh, look, the survivors are dealing with the tragedy badly. Stupid fictional people. Let's watch.")
6: I know a ridiculous amount of Star Wars trivia, and am currently regularly contributing to starwars.wikicities.com, which is like Wikipedia but only for Star Wars.
7: Lionel Hutz. Or the sarcastic salesman guy (you know, he sold the Simpsons their TV, and exchanged the Comic Book Guy's Ultimate Belt).
8: That sarcastic salesman guy needs a name.
9: Rare fandoms? There's this old (1950's or so) series of science fiction novels by James Blish called "Cities in Flight". The stories themselves aren't all that impressive (though several steps above some SF of the era) but the premise -- the cities of an economically depressed Earth strap FTL antigravity engines to themselves and travel the galaxy looking for work -- is just super cool.

I think he has the same voice as the limo driver in the flashback episode to Homer and Marge's prom. That actor cracks me up.

Hated (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mpoetess/466934.html) | Loved (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mpoetess/467918.html)

Is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?
Nick Knight (Forever Knight)/Angel. Mostly because I think even Angel would tell Nick to OMG get over the angst. and then I would laugh.

show off your favourite icon.
This one, right now.

what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.

There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, and the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream. People made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, somewhere else the tea's getting cold. Come on Ace, we've got work to do.

If there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it.

But I don't understand! I don't understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's, there's just a body, and I don't understand why she just can't get back in it and not be dead anymore. It's stupid. It's mortal and stupid. And, and Xander's crying and not talking, and, and I was having fruit punch, and I thought, well, Joyce will never have any more fruit punch ever, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why.

Yis. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mpoetess/438904.html)

Brokeback Mountain. And Serenity.

Who's the best character in The Simpsons?
Lisa. Except sometimes when it's Sideshow Bob.

obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?
Turlough; oldskool Doctor Who.

and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.

All of the semi-rare fandoms I have, I've been very lazy about seeking out fic for; to be honest unless it falls across my friendslist, I am not hurting for fic in my non-Joss fandoms. Stuff I like that is semi-obscure, though... American Gothic (which I actually have read a virtual season for.) ... um. Margaret Mahy novels? I would love to see good fanfic for The Changeover.

Batman Begins. Not a batfan. Not a DC fan. Gleeful about the film.

BSG first season finale. Holy shit that was good. And I had to wait 2 weeks to see it, avoiding both net, friends and work collegues.

Lump in throat - Diarmuid's death (and Coll's subsequent reaction) in the Fionavar Trilogy. Gleeful - Simon jumping off the balcony to get to River - I can trace the Firefly love to that exact moment. I guess Garak introducing himself to Bashir should be there too then.

Voyager slash. Deep shame. Barely watched the show. Consummed the slash avidly.

A Feast for Crows by George RR Martin. Coming out *at last* even if there will be no Jon.

Willie

I would read virtually any fanfic set in the above mentioned A song of ice and fire universe. Or Tamora Pierce's Lioness Quartet (well, ok, only if it involved George). Or Vorkosigian verse.

Oh, in case you wanted to know, friended you for the Dr Who stuff.

I went to see The Island today and shamefully really enjoyed it. It had absolutely nothing original in it but it was shiny and well-made and the cast were all very attractive and performed well, so really, I don't care that they should just have called it Logan Runs Through A Brave New World In 1984's Matrix.

I want to know why there isn't a fic where Buffy and the gang find out that there's some bizarre magic thing going on in Britain, so they go and investigate it because there isn't a council there any more and it turns out that grown-up Harry Potter and the other gang are there being Rogue Dark Wizard Hunters or something and then they fight evil and Buffy and Harry get it on.

I should be working on a fic but I just can't resist these things!

- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?

I really loved the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was weird and funny and just wonderful!

- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?

Yes. There needs to be Faith/Buffy set in the Wishverse. NOW. I want the angsty sex, the darkness, and just maybe the thought of them trying to fix one another. I want it so badly!

- show off your favourite icon.

I don't have a favorite! Although this one is one of the funniest, in my opinion.

- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.

Chosen, dude. I adore it!

- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it.

What does it say about me that I can't think of one thing?

- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.

When I'm itching for some good fic, sometimes I will go looking for femslash. Usually, though? It's Wes/Gunn. Yes, I feel guilty for searching for Wes/Gunn instead of femslash. *rolls eyes at myself*

- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about?

Mostly just Serenity. :)

- who's the best character in The Simpsons? This would be a poll if I weren't lazy. (It's Reverend Lovejoy, of coure, but I would also accept Sideshow Mel or the gestalt entity Carl-and-Lenny.)

Dr. Frick! Mostly because my boyfriend can do a great impression of him. Carl-and-Lenny come in second, and then Moe. Who doesn't love Moe? And Apu.

- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?

Gwen! She might not be real obscure but she needs more love.

- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.

I have no cool obscure fandoms. I'm boring like that :(

I love CatCF, and the amount of Mary Sue 'omg Johnny Depp Wonka is TEH SEX!!' fic at fanfic.net makes me shed blood tears.

Gwen! She might not be real obscure but she needs more love.

I still owe you a Dawn/Gwen/Faith fic for the Sandwich Ficathon...

There is nothing odd about looking for Wes/Gunn. Wes/Gunn are love, particularly in season 2, where there is Risk.

I rented just "Stage Beauty" it was pretty and smart.

An AU with Willow/Riley and Tara/Xander needs to be writen the first pairing because MB could actually act off of AH and the second for the sake of irony, Xander with the girl who only thinks she's a demon.

The death of Spock in ST-II always makes me cry. This could count as my shame too.

Anya needs more love and more people I know in RL need to be reading Discworld. I have nobody to swap books with.

Definite Willow/Riley sparks in early season 4.

Spock's death *broke* me when I was a wee tiny proto-fangirl. I must have been about 10 and it was the most distressing thing I'd ever seen (even though I'd seen Star Trek IV and so I knew that logically he must come back at some point.)

- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?

That would be Dear Frankie.. Is this really low key, indie movie with Gerry Butler. The story is very sweet and the ending left me teary-eyed.

is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?

Erik/Angelus. Because Angelus needs to get it on with the World's Most Masterful Virgin (tm). And William can get all hot and foppy with Raoul while Darla and Dru drain the Corps de Ballet.

show off your favourite icon.
You mean of the now? ::points::

what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.

Lacking originality here, but it's Angel's Home.

if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it. (*) (Note that this is a footnote mark, not a single pierced nipple boobicon.)

Boobie!!!!! There's quite a few actually. Very randomly, I always squee and bounce with glee when reading the ending of Rose Daughter. and for a sad one, I always lose it on Beauty and the Beast, when the Beast dies (I confess to being a masochist and three out of four times a week I watch the movie, I stop it just after Belle says "I love you" and the last petal falls, declaring that's the end)

confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.

I wrote Gaston/Prince slash... and I liked it.

what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)

Beowulf & Grendel (Gerry Butler as Beowulf? I'm so there!)

- who's the best character in The Simpsons? This would be a poll if I weren't lazy. (It's Reverend Lovejoy, of coure, but I would also accept Sideshow Mel or the gestalt entity Carl-and-Lenny.)

Homer. No matter what's going on, he always makes me laugh (Runnerups: Mr Burns, Lisa and Bleeding Gums Murphy)

obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?
Eve. ::ducks flying tomatoes:: Also, the Persian on Phantom of the Opera, because of his being a book character he gets ignored by most movie fans.

- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.
Any good PotO fic is a rarity, so I'd like to see more of it. Maybe some BatB slash too (Belle/Triplets would make me giddy).

And don't get me started on Lilo and Stitch, because then my rampant immaturity will be out there for all the world to see.

Do you cry when he goes out with the book and says "I'm lost!" hoping his family will find him? Mom and I always do that.

...

I hesitate to even ask, but you mean the transformed Beast, right? Not the singer?

Right?!

Maybe some BatB slash too (Belle/Triplets would make me giddy).

Oooh. There's an idea.

And yes, that's the Lilo and Stitch bit that just breaks me. I'm on the verge in the scene before where he finds the picture of her parents and all Lilo says is "it was raining and they went for a drive..." and then Stitch is lost and he's so little and the forest is huge and he wants his family to find him but he doesn't *have* one and waaah...

- Last movie:

Er, the last one I saw that I had much, much love for was Boa Vs Python. Because it's totally and completely cheesy, and has big snakes fighting it out in the sewers. And it had David Hewlett! And a bad guy who rips off his shirt for no good reason whatsoever!

And also Constantine. Which surprised the hell out of me because I thought I'd hate it. but I didn't. Even if Keanu Reeves is in no way, shape or form John Constantine, I still really enjoyed the movie.

As for movies I hate. I only actually hate two movies: Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music. I used to think I had Julie Andrews issues, but no, it's just that those movies make me want to spork my eyes out.

- Fic / Pairing:

Yes! People much write Atlantis/X-Files crosovers and give me Rodney McKay/Alex Krycek porn. Because it would be hot and melt my brain. In fact, Rodney could work for the Agency from Once A Thief, because that has Nick Lea in it. And Rodney's Canadian, and see it would work!!

- Favourite icon:

Er, I like a lot of them, it's why I have them *snerk* *makes choice quickly* This one! Because it's a kitten wearing a hat. And in every single universe there possible is, you can't go wrong with a kitten in a woolly hat.

- Season finale:

Oz. Because a hell of a lot of them die, and Toby finally gets some kind of closure. Although Chris dying *kills* me.

Angel. Because, although Wes dying rips out my heart, it's the right ending for the show.

- Moment:

The bit in the Highlander episode 'To Be', where Joe starts singing Stand By Me. Because it's Joe, and it's so wrongly fucked up that it's perfect.

- Fandom shame:

I don't actually think I have any deep fandom shames. It's all pretty much out there. Once I get past the 'my ship for one of my shows is a guy and a really big worm,' I can get past anything ;-)

- Upcoming movie:

Serenity. Underworld: Revolution. I liked Underworld, so I'm looking forward to this one, too :-D

- Best character in Simpsons:

I don' really watch it, but I'd have to say the comic book guy. I've known that guy. Hell, I've *been* that guy. (But withou the shorts and the beard ;-)

- Obscure character love:

Pete Wisdom in the X-Men universe. And El Blanco from Tremors. And Beckett from the Vampire: The Masquerade novels. I have much love for Beckett. The main reason I got the Gangrel clan logo tattooed on my shoulder was Beckett. (And I like the design, but Beckett!)

- Rare fandoms:

I'd kill for some new, good Tremors fic. And I'd kinda like some good Fastlane fic. And some CSI: Miami Horatio/Speed fic that isn't OOC for either of them.

:-D

OMG, I LURK AROUND YOUR ELJAY LIKE WHOA! :P

Heeee. Okay, a few I'll answer, then.

- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?

Monster In Law, and I recommend every one (newlyweds most) see it! It was cracktastik, I tell you.

- show off your favourite icon.

*points to the one she is using*

- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.

Oh, dude. So many, but I'll go with BtVS season six finale. The shock value was enough to leave me staring at the television screen long minutes after it ended.

- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.

I used to eagerly watch the soap, Passions, and sometimes I still do, OMG. *cringes, prepares to be ostracized*

- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it.

Hearts in Atlantis (by Stephen King) always gets to me, the fact that I've read it twenty times over notwithstanding.

what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about?

Reunion, and Supernatural, mainly.

*steals your candy*

I've only heard of Passions through Buffy - does it really have storylines about puppets coming to life and things? Because that would make it the best soap ever omg. (Talking of soap shame, I adored Sunset Beach. As did everybody I know. We were all very sad when it finished.)

I loved "Sky High" because I am emotionally about 13 years old.

- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?

I know that there have to be Harry/Gregory Goyle stories out there, but the Potter fandom is so dang huge. I really want to read stories where Greg turns back into a girl and asks Harry if he still thinks that he's pretty which leads to them doing naughty things together. Then Greg gets sad because when he's a boy, Harry acts like he doesn't exist. But Harry does like him, he's just horribly confused and he knows that Ron will freak. Fortunately, it all works out. After the war, Draco is completely jealous but can't quite figure out why until Gregory, like a good minion, offers to share Harry.

- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?

I love Sheriff Adams on Smallville. Totally adore her.

And "Lilo and Stitch" is one of my all-time favorite movies. It makes me laugh hysterically and then makes me bawl.

I saw the 40 Year Old Virgin last week and almost peed myself laughing.

I just rediscovered this one while I was going through old icons. I think I made it for AtS: No Limits, but it works fine just on its own. Also, I think it's pretty.

I am shameless!

what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)
I already SAW Serenity (neener neener) but I am omg so excited to see it again. I am dragging my roommate who does not like Firefly at all, but who will love it after he sees the movie or else. Er. "Goblet of Fire"? I haven't been paying attention to stuff. Ooh, and "Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe".

who's the best character in The Simpsons?
There's this girl with blue hair and green glasses who's in the opening credits, and who used to be in school crowd scenes in the earlier years... She never has any lines, and she plays the violin, and I think she is great. Some pals of mine on a Simpsons message board I still sometimes frequent took to calling her Slug Girl in my honor, because of my bizarre obsession.
Image
I also think that this answers the obscure character question. And possibly the fandom shame thing, although really it's more strange than shameful.

and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.
I've loved most of the Dark is Rising fic I've read, but that's only like five stories or something. Is there more? Is it all crap? Who knows?!

- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? Rent! And Brokeback Mountain.

- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom? Darla could always use more love in both BtVS and AtS. Darla ownz your soul, yo. :p

- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for. It's not a rare fandom, but House needs more smut. I've only found two NC-17 rated slashy House fics and that is something that needs to be remedied immediately!

But I always hope for new StarvedDrownedAngel/MadSouledSpike epics. It's my favourite AU.

- show off your favourite icon.
Never used, but so pretty!

- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.
Hmm... I hate season finales. The season is over and I'm not sure if I will be ever able to see the next seasons in my country... and they are often rushed and bleak or angsty and incomplete.
But I love the end of Anne of Greengables' cartoon. The most beautiful and poetic cartoon I have ever seen. Perfect from the start to the end.

- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it.
Laugh: Wodehouse' Blandings books. I just can't help myself.
And David Eddings Mallorean books.

- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.
I have written a MarySue/Au/Crossover: Tolkien's world meets Jules Verne's. I was 15. So now I don't read anything in the LOTR fandom: I'm scared.

- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about?
Howl's Castle (next week...)

- who's the best character in The Simpsons?
Maggie

More fics for the Chinese Slayer and her mum!

is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?

Personally, I'd love to do up some of Shakespeare's plays with Jossverse characters in the roles... not as prose fiction, but as plays. It's been done, but mostly as a joke. I'd sort of like to make a serious attempt at it.

Although I haven't the foggiest how to go about trying...

Buffy Season 3, "Graduation Day", the bit where the students all throw off their commencement gowns to display their weaponry. There's a cheese factor, sure, but it's one of the few times I've actually vaulted out of my chair and screamed: "YES!" to the TV.

Hamilton. He *is* well-dressed, and besides, Mister Baldwin is just plain lickable in any incarnation.

"Beauty and the Beast" - that TV show from the 80's. Can't seem to lay hands on archives anymore.

Sexy Xander + Great Big Sea song lyric = Happy Willa.

I downloaded a ton of Great Big Sea songs off Limewire last week. (Err, I mean, I went and bought them in a completely legal manner). I love their music. I listened to Mary Mac far too many times, mostly to tease [livejournal.com profile] marymac with.

Beauty and the Beast was some of the first fic I ever read. I had no idea what the show was even about - I don't think it was broadcast in the UK - but when I was about 12 we didn't have the internet (and it wasn't available in my public library yet) and I couldn't afford zines, so I sent away for zine flyers and rabidly devoured them, whatever the fandom. I used to make up stories about Vincent and Catherine with no clue who they were...

Why do I have to pick *one* icon?

A Dark Angel/Buffy crossover wherein Zane's in LA, Logan owes Angel for saving his life way back when, and Alec and Spike meet up in a bar, hit on the same girl, declare each other rivals, then go off and have sex. :D Okay, so that's what I've been dying to write but... y'know, I just don't have an actual plot...

- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it.
Once again, Dark Angel... an eppisode called 'Boo' that was a halloweeen-like eppie where everything's just the TINIEST bit off... Logan's working at his computer, camera angle on his face, he's trying to help out with finding a guy, working furiously...
Logan: Bingo.
Max: You found him?
Logan: No, actually... (http://www.darkangelfan.com/images//screencaps/ep205/205537.JPG)
XD So simple. Stolen from countless other things... but still hilarious.
