Sep. 6th, 2005 10:38 pmAnybody feel like delurking? Or pretending to lurk so you can delurk and comment?
I would like to know any of the following: (unnumbered since I don't expect people to answer them all)
- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?
- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?
- show off your favourite icon.
- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.
- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it. (*) (Note that this is a footnote mark, not a single pierced nipple boobicon.)
- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.
- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)
- who's the best character in The Simpsons? This would be a poll if I weren't lazy. (It's Reverend Lovejoy, of coure, but I would also accept Sideshow Mel or the gestalt entity Carl-and-Lenny.)
- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?
- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.
(*) My emotionally crippling moments: I mentioned this when
And don't get me started on Lilo and Stitch, because then my rampant immaturity will be out there for all the world to see.
ETA: I'm off to bed so if you don't get an immediate response, remember your hitchhiker's guide advice and don't panic. I'll be answering these tomorrow. But keep your towel on standby just in case.

on 2005-09-06 10:21 pm (UTC)1: March of the Penguins. Wait, no, Blade Runner and A Very Long Engagement on video.
2: I think every bizarre pairing and AU that my limited imagination can come up with has been written by now.
3: This is me! When I went to Scotland! There's Loch Ness! I swam in it with drunken Australian backpackers, yes I did.
4: Last five minutes of all seven Buffy seasons and all five Angel seasons were entertaining. (I'm sorry, this is not new information to you at all, is it?)
5: Tara getting killed. Didn't help that they showed her death scene in the "Previously on Buffy" recaps for the next ten episodes or so. (Of course, being a Stoic Man of Stoicness, fiction rarely affects me beyond, "ah, that's a shame. Poor imaginary person. Oh, look, the survivors are dealing with the tragedy badly. Stupid fictional people. Let's watch.")
6: I know a ridiculous amount of Star Wars trivia, and am currently regularly contributing to starwars.wikicities.com, which is like Wikipedia but only for Star Wars.
7: Lionel Hutz. Or the sarcastic salesman guy (you know, he sold the Simpsons their TV, and exchanged the Comic Book Guy's Ultimate Belt).
8: That sarcastic salesman guy needs a name.
9: Rare fandoms? There's this old (1950's or so) series of science fiction novels by James Blish called "Cities in Flight". The stories themselves aren't all that impressive (though several steps above some SF of the era) but the premise -- the cities of an economically depressed Earth strap FTL antigravity engines to themselves and travel the galaxy looking for work -- is just super cool.

on 2005-09-06 10:25 pm (UTC)I think he has the same voice as the limo driver in the flashback episode to Homer and Marge's prom. That actor cracks me up.
There's Loch Ness! I swam in it with drunken Australian backpackers, yes I did.
And the monster didn't eat you? You had a narrow escape there.
