doyle: tardis (doctor - 8th)

So I'm reading another of the Eighth Doctor books, Camera Obscura, which is set in Victorian London. I'd skimmed it, and happened upon a bit where Fitz is fussing at the Doctor, who sarcastically says "yes, Da." Ha, I said to myself, remembering many Spike/Angel fics, I bet this writer's a Spike fan.

Then I get to this bit:

[Anji] was smiling politely at an earnest, puffy-haired young man in a brown suit, William somebody or other, who had been introduced to Chiltern as a poet. He was chattering on at her - probably reciting some of his no doubt ghastly poetry.

*dies of fandom collision*

(Well, vampires do exist in the Who universe, and Dingoes Ate My Baby have already been name-checked in one of the novels, so I suppose anything's possible...)

Dingoes? Seriously?

I don't watch Dr. Who, have never seen an episode but you're making me want to start...

Okay. So Buffy-type-happenings exist in the Whoniverse, but so does online Buffy fandom? My brain, she hurts.

Who books x with Buffyverse, and also with Hitchhikers Guide
therefore Buffyverse x Hitchhikers Guide

I'm sure I saw a sort of crossover family tree of TV shows once

I think it actually proved that they were all dreamed by one guy in one show

Yes. Of course.

Though I started thinking of the other Spike. Heh.

Am not writing this one. Because it will be brainkilling for me, and others know the Buffyverse quite a lot better. *grin* No matter how tempting it is.

I remember going "omgwtf" at that bit.

Miriam suggests that the Buffyverse is an AU where all of Doctor Who exists. Because. Also, based purely on the telly, Hitchhiker's Guide is in the same universe as DW (Oolon Caluphid writes books in both, the Doctor quotes it in Ghost Light) and so is Quatermass (the British Rocket Group is name-checked twice).

Wibble. Though I'm not sure I can take the 'Da' as that always makes me cringe and close the fic when it has Sppike use such a wrong term.

Hee. **It's all connected, Giles**
I'd love to see Buffy meet the Doctor.

I've never read nor seen Dr. Who, but I love reading your posts about it. How funny to have them all of a sudden decide to include vampires in the series, and so matter of factly. I love that.

Werewolves are canon in DW, too, aren't they?
