Sep. 6th, 2005 10:38 pmAnybody feel like delurking? Or pretending to lurk so you can delurk and comment?
I would like to know any of the following: (unnumbered since I don't expect people to answer them all)
- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?
- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?
- show off your favourite icon.
- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.
- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it. (*) (Note that this is a footnote mark, not a single pierced nipple boobicon.)
- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.
- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)
- who's the best character in The Simpsons? This would be a poll if I weren't lazy. (It's Reverend Lovejoy, of coure, but I would also accept Sideshow Mel or the gestalt entity Carl-and-Lenny.)
- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?
- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.
(*) My emotionally crippling moments: I mentioned this when
And don't get me started on Lilo and Stitch, because then my rampant immaturity will be out there for all the world to see.
ETA: I'm off to bed so if you don't get an immediate response, remember your hitchhiker's guide advice and don't panic. I'll be answering these tomorrow. But keep your towel on standby just in case.

on 2005-09-08 12:27 am (UTC)I saw The Island last night, and while I wouldn't say I loved it, it was much better than I expected, having heard some poor reviews. I actually rather enjoyed it, and we discussed it at length afterwards. Ok, so some of the discussion was at the level of "Who would you shag shoot or marry: Beanie, Ewan, Djimon?". Both in and out of character. I think there was general consensus that Beanie being evil is sexy. We also discussed more sensible things, like the likelyhood of holographic nets and jet bikes in 15 years. Jet bikes are highly likely, holograms less so.
Mal and Han. Not in a dirty way - well, ok, maybe in a dirty way. But just my two favourite space pirates having adventures together. Could Serenity make the Kessel run faster than the Falcon? Or, for a more smutty suggestion, Captain Jack/Captain Jack. And no, that isn't masturbation. I'm refering to the pirate and the sluttiest space slut ever to grace the TARDIS.
I'm not currently using some of my favourite icons, but of those I am using I rather like this one.
Well, Buffy certainly had some cracking finales, but I was always a fan of the cliffhangar ST:TNG finales, which would be concluded in the first ep of the new season. Ooh, or Anasazi, the X-Files season 2 finale. That was a great season closer.
The moment in Passion (BtvS season 2) when Buffy hands the phone to Willow and slumps down and then Willow listens for a moment before bursting into tears. Willow crying always sets me off, so the end of Tabula Rasa is also a tear-jerker. Oh, and the lobby scene from Matrix always puts a big insane grin on my face. What, so I'm a bit odd?
I once wrote a TNG/X-Files crossover fic. It had Mulder liking Troi and Riker getting jealous. Named and shamed.
Well, I've seen Serenity - who wants to touch me? - so I guess the things I'm looking forward to now are season 2 of Lost, year 2 of Astonishing X-Men, Narnia, King Kong, and X3, though that's a way off. And I'm excited by the mere thought of PJ making The Hobbit or a film of the Odyssey starring Sean Bean. Oh, and The Christmas Invasion of course, followed by series 2 of Doctor Who. Oh, and series 3 of Spooks starts on monday - that should be good.
Lisa.
Glorfindel. He has a nasty habit of being omitted from adaptations, the poor little bugger.
Hmm, I'm not sure that I have any obscure fandoms. I guess I'm a little mainstream in my choice of fandoms. Does Red Dwarf count as obscure?
