The Semi-Annual delurking/tell Doyle things/help me procrastinate, bitches Post

Anybody feel like delurking? Or pretending to lurk so you can delurk and comment?

I would like to know any of the following: (unnumbered since I don't expect people to answer them all)
- what's the last movie you saw that you really loved or really hated?
- is there a fic/pairing/scenario/cracked out AU, in any fandom or crossover, that plainly needs to be written but so far hasn't, to your great distress?
- show off your favourite icon.
- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil me.
- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it. (*) (Note that this is a footnote mark, not a single pierced nipple boobicon.)
- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.
- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about? (I think we'll take Serenity as a given...)
- who's the best character in The Simpsons? This would be a poll if I weren't lazy. (It's Reverend Lovejoy, of coure, but I would also accept Sideshow Mel or the gestalt entity Carl-and-Lenny.)
- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?
- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.

(*) My emotionally crippling moments: I mentioned this when [livejournal.com profile] miggy did her meme a few weeks back, but the Simpsons episode Lisa's Substitute tears me up every single time. Argh, the note, "this is everything you need to know" and it just says "you are Lisa Simpson." I have to watch that episode every time it's on TV. I own it on DVD, I've seen it maybe 30 times, but if it's on TV I'm compelled to sit and watch for that one moment.

And don't get me started on Lilo and Stitch, because then my rampant immaturity will be out there for all the world to see.

ETA: I'm off to bed so if you don't get an immediate response, remember your hitchhiker's guide advice and don't panic. I'll be answering these tomorrow. But keep your towel on standby just in case.

Old news old news, but I saw Donnie Darko and really liked it, although not to the clutish level of some people. I liked the idea that he was both right *and* nuts.

BArty Crouch Jr. oh please. With anyone, doing anything. I looked him up recently for a Tennant fan I know and realised that he's a very interesting character with a lot of story untold and still enough character to make something of...yet no-one has. He's not even (clinically) dead!

- show off your favourite icon.

Oui

- what's your favourite season finale of any show ever? Feel free to spoil
me.

Ooh, probably ATS Season 4. I know a lot of people don't like it but I loved the complete ariness and the subtle twist at the end that the whole point *wasn't* the goddess but the way that all this had messed Connor's head. the scene in the baseball bat shop was the first time I really thought that DB could be a good actor. The other answer would be the "Blake's Seven" finale when I was about tn. They all died! THEY ALL DIED OMG!.

- if there's a TV/movie/book moment that just gets to you, whether to make you bawl your eyes out or fall about laughing, tell me about it.

Howl: The endings of both Brazil (the music) and West Side Story (her bitterness "...how many can I kill and still have one for me?") make me honk and a large amount of The Thin Red Line. Last time I saw that I went off every five minutes, with the scenery and the noble comrades and the waste and the hope...

Laugh: Recently I'd say the scene in Casanova when he's interviewing a lady and she says her husband's away at the Punic wars. He says that they were thousands of years ago and she says, in a refined accent "He's been gone a very long time". It still cracks me up. Also the bit with the chiar against the door in The Big Lebowski

- confess your deep fandom shame. It's good for the soul.

Can't quite, but I have fangirled people less cool than Ronan Keating is all I'll say.

- what upcoming movie/TV show/book/comic/whatever are you excited about?

GOF, because I never mind the things most people complain about, I just love the flawless casting no matter how much the parts have been cut.

- who's the best character in The Simpsons?

Smithers. Poor man's got coathangers everywhere he looks.

- obscure character love yay! Who needs the love, in any fandom?

See above re: Barty. Not 'love' as he's a neevil psycho but look at the material! He's Marauders! He's now! He's a slug-club candidate if I ever saw one! He's got freckles!

- and speaking of obscure, tell me what rare fandoms you have, or what you'd like to see good fic for.

Not enough Dalek-only stories out there.
