I just saw the Smallville season 5 promos. Well, I saw them on my flist this morning but I assumed they were fan-made mockups. Apparently they're the real thing. Uh... huh. So this year they're just going all out on the slash, eh? All three of these made my brain spin round and round and make little fizzy noises.


Good Sex, Bad Lex (This was where I blinked a lot, shut down the site and reopened just to be sure I'd read that right. Threesome fun! Also, the slash has to be deliberate. Has to be. The fact that Clark is naked and Lex is looking at him rather than Lana, with that tagline...)

Life is just beginning (this seriously looks like A Very Special Episode of Smallville, where Clark comes out to his parents and Bo has the heart attack that finally takes him to the big cowshed in the sky. *pictures Bo and Jor-El coexisting in tense silence for a few millennia before Jor-El mutters 'I wanted to send him to that Amazon warrior-planet but no, Lara had to have Earth...')

He's not the only one on earth. Damn, teh Marsters looks pretty good. This episode is all about how Clark is Not Alone because one of his lecturers is a big gay alien too and they have the sex and then Lex is all 'woes' and Clark is all 'yay' and Fine is all 'ha, my boyfriend's 18 and looks like an underwear model, I am awesome'.

I'm not up on spoilers but isn't one of the big DC mandates that Clark must remain a virgin until he's married? (When the promos for the episode last year where Red!Clark gets married in Vegas made me go "they're getting around the has-to-be-married thing that way? My God, that's actually pretty clever..")

I could be totally wrong about that, though.

If you scroll most of the way to the bottom of this spoiler page (http://www.kryptonsite.com/smallvillespoilers.htm), linked from the poster site, it says "Clark and Lana finally surrender to their long unrequited love and consummate their relationship after declaring their love for each other" in a section coming from the WB. So either DC relented, or they decided that Clark having been married made it okay for him to have sex, even though the marriage was annulled.

I cannot believe I cared enough to look this up.
