I'm watching old episodes of Blackadder the Third and trying in vain to reconcile Prince George with Gregory House. It's brain-wrecking. (I don't know how much Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster and A Bit of Fry and Laurie have been shown outside the UK, but I grew up on wall to wall repeats of them. Suddenly finding Hugh Laurie hot is very disconcerting.)

If I've friended you in the last couple of days, it's probably because I like reading your posts on House - no need to friend back.

This is the first time ever that less than half of my icons have been Buffyverse. It's very sad that this makes me guilty.

I'm about half and half on the Buffy icons - and I felt *extraordinarily* guilty when I started adding other fandoms.

Heee. I like Lost but I'm not really involved in the fandom, and while I love Desperate Housewives I don't have any urge to write fic or get metaish over it - and then House comes along and makes me want to write fic and hunt down spoilers and hoard icons and talk endlessly about it with other people, and while it's so lovely to have a fandom again, it's like the Buffyverse is there going "is it me? I can change!"

I am having the same brain-melting experience with the Hugh Laurie thing. I haven't seen House -(are you d/loading it?) but the pics I've seen make me want Laurie in a bad and wrong way.

It is difficult to reconcile Lieutenant George (aka the gorgeous Georgina) with the scruffy, sexy (and I'm assuming) gravelly-voiced man I'm seeing in various icons.

*waits for House to come to Sky...*

I'm downloading - have everything but episodes 7-10, and we should have those in the next few days.

Addiction is a beautiful thing.

(If you can watch .avi files I can burn them to a CD for you, mail me at doyle@exitseraphim.net with your address. That reminds me, need to send [livejournal.com profile] rheanna27 a CD...)

As one who has (for no good earthly reason) found Hugh Laurie to be Quite Hot Indeed for over *cough*fifteenyears*cough*, it's JUST as disconcerting to find other people suddenly in the Hugh-is-Hot corner.

(Almost as disconcerting as realizing they're all finding him hot in something that, Hugh or No Hugh, I just can't watch due to my own issues with medical shows.)

I'm searching my pre-teen and adolescent memories for any moment when I looked at Hugh Laurie and thought "swoon!" or "you know, if he scruffed up a bit..." But no, it just totally blindsided me.

I'm wonder if he's just as surprised as anyone else...

Hugh will forever by Wooster from Jeeves and Wooster and it's really odd for me to reconsile that with hot, American accented, Hugh. And if Stephen ever made a guest appearance I might have a brain malfunction:)

Stephen needs to play either House's arch-nemesis or Cameron's father. I haven't decided which I would prefer...

Well, there were repeats of Blackadder and Fry & Laurie in Canada. Not wall-to-wall, but enough for me to come to the conclusion that Hugh is brilliant. Who knew he was hot, too?!? Also, the North American accent is completely freaking me out. It's PERFECT.

I love House. But please don't leave the Buffyverse. *looks pitiful*

I tried that with Blackadder Goes Forth the other night. I think my brain melted.

Who would you pimp for the quality House meta? Because the three episodes I haven't seen are continuing to allude me and if I watch the air keyboard scene or the ending of DNR one more time I think pdvd will throw a fit at me.

I think I always thought of Hugh as good-looking, but it definitely never occurred to me that he was hot until House (even though I'm not watching House because I'm too easily squicked by the medical stuff).

And I well remember my guilt over adding non-Buffy icons! :-)

I'm not easily squicked but I've had many squick moments in House. Medical dramas often convince me I did the right thing in abandoning medicine for physics, whatever my parents thought at the time.

<< I don't know how much Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster and A Bit of Fry and Laurie have been shown outside the UK >>

We got them on Masterpiece Theater. Or at least, *I* did. No one ever got my Wodehouse quotes. I loved Hugh Laurie, but it was Stephen Fry who I thought was hawt. Even now when I fangirl over Dr. House, I have to say "Ohhhh, *Bertie*" in my best Dirty Aunt Agatha impression.

And I want to second whoever mentioned Blackadder II. Finding myself in lust with Rowan Atkinson really messed up my neurons. I was glad when he shaved the Beard Of Hawtness and went back to just being amusing.

I haven't seen Jeeves and Wooster in years (though I love the books), I really need to invest in the DVDs.

Hot Rowan Atkinson is frightening, especially if you watched Blackadder II and Mr. Bean in succession.

Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster

I watched and loved them in Russia.
I even read a book by Hugh Laurie out of curiousity - it was different than I expected but fun.

Books by Stephen Fry are pretty much what I expected.

I haven't read any of Hugh Laurie's books - of Stephen Fry's, I've read Making History, which I both liked and didn't (liked the plot and the characters, wasn't keen that a huge chunk became a film script)

All of them made showed up on Public Television here. I especially loved "Jeeves and Wooster".

Heh, it actually happened for me with "Peter's Friends". At least "House" makes sense ;)

This is the first time ever that less than half of my icons have been Buffyverse. It's very sad that this makes me guilty.

Oh, I hear ya. The Jossverse icons I have in rotation (about 9) are more for the sake of the ljs I tend to comment in, if that makes sense. On top of that, I gave away this year's Spike calendar and just yesterday bought my third season of "Smallville" when I don't even own a second season of any other show. I've actually been cheating on my first fandom for a while now. Total obsession transference. What a fickle fandom ho I turned out to be. For shame!

I've had a crush on Hugh Laurie since 'Fry & Laurie' was first shown in the UK and I must have been all of 11 or 12! I've never been afraid to go with the unobvious. [g]

Dunno what 'House' is though. Is it on Sky or just in the states? Seems to have everyone talking about it.
