Introduction Post

doyleIn honour of Worldwide Journal Commenting Day, and since I've been updating my friendslist, I thought I'd do a post for people who don't normally comment to say hi. Also for people who do normally comment. So, pretty much just for everybpdy, really.
Getting To Know You...
If you're wondering who I am - that's okay, I don't recognise a lot of the names on my flist either, hence this post - I go by Doyle, I'm 22, I'm an astrophysics student and I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I'm most active in the Buffyverse fandom, which I can never call Buffy/Angel without getting it mixed up with the pairing, and most of my posts are me blathering on about some aspect of that. The rest of the posts are usually me whinging about an assignment/thesis/presentation/nebula spectrum, though most of those are locked, when I remember. I obsessively-compulsively organize things, so if you're looking for communities, fic recs, whatever, I'll try my best to help you find it or point you to someone who can.
Current favourite pairings and characters are Dawn, Nina, Angel/Spike, Buffy, Riley, Kennedy, Gunn, and I've been thinking a lot about Eve. This changes a lot. I think every character has been my favourite at some point, and it all seems to run nicely on a subconscious rota system. Non-Buffyverse things I watch: Lost, Desperate Housewives, Father Ted, Black Books, Teachers, The Simpsons, Futurama, random bits of anime and Farscape and Battlestar Galactica when my housemates are watching it.

I actually have a timeline of that verse, and a list of who's alive and the things that have to happen as they did in our universe (Holtz will still appear, even though Angel's already dead; Illyria's release from the Deeper Well was foretold, even if her host turns out to be Knox or, I don't know, Lindsey or Warren Mears or someone this time around.) There's a story that's been rattling around my head since I wrote it, about Spike a hundred years down the line in The Master's sanitized vamp utopia, hating every second of existence.
So, yeah, that's probably going to get revisited at some point.
What do you think is going to be the next HOT fic fandom?
Good question... Battlestar Galactica, especially if it gets confirmed for a second season (maybe it has already, for all I know).
I like a lot of the secondary and tertiary characters, the weirder the better.

Squee!! ::does happy dance:: That sounds wonderful. I can't wait. I really enjoyed the original fic, coz I have a "Master-didn't-die-verse" too, that I've been building for a bit, and when I saw how you laid out your world canvass I was all like, DANG we've got the same muse whispring things. The little hussy. XD

That's very interesting. In the circles I shuffle about in, the people don't really like the new BSG or SG-Atlantis.
