Fic question
Dec. 28th, 2003 12:21 amThose things you keep food in, in the kitchen. To me they're cupboards. What do you wacky Yanks call 'em? I'm sure I know this but I'm blocked, all I keep coming up with is "closet" and I know that's wrong. For example, "Joyce opened the ____ "
I may or may not be going crazy. But I love writing this fic.

on 2003-12-27 04:44 pm (UTC)Obviously, the others who have replied on this thread have different ideas about what a pantry or cupboard is. The different definitions are probably a regional thing. Whatever you pick, just go with it. As long as it's in context you'll be perfectly understood.

on 2003-12-27 04:37 pm (UTC)A pantry is where you usually store food products. Generally, a pantry has two large doors, but can also be kinda like a walk in closet of sorts.
Cupboard is not really used, but if it is, it is the equivalent of kitchen cabinets.
