Ah, the tribulations of looking for decent fanfic

Dear Santa,

There's only one thing I want for Christmas this year. Please could you fix it so that all promising fanfic writers, those who have interesting ideas and a nice turn of phrase or dialogue, or who write exactly the kind of fic I want to read (be it angst, schmoopy fluff or even the dreaded high school AU) learn to fucking spell and punctuate properly because it's really really pissing me off!

Or at least send them pretty beta readers in their stockings.

Get me this teeny little thing and I'll overlook that spacehopper I didn't get when I was seven.

One or two errors are fine and understandable. It's when someone who could be a good writer clearly has no clue where to put commas or how to punctuate speech that I get riled up...

But glad to know I wasn't the only one denied a space hopper. Sniff, I had to borrow the cousin's. I'm still traumatised.
Mind you, given the nearly blinding myself with a scooter thing, this may have been a good call by the parental units.

Hmm, it's a fair point. When I was in Halls of Residence last year we did have a space hopper and there were some near-accidents.

(Admittedly that could have been due to all the alcohol)

Alcohol is a compulsory part of being a student, so it's clearly the fault of the space hopper.
And I now have a picture of S4 Student Buffy on a space hopper staking vampires while bouncing through the cemetary. It's most disturbing - I'm supposed to be writing an angsty ATS S5 fic.
