Fake author madness

Some spam on a book list I'm on directed me to the website of one Hiroshima Kindelan. Frankly I'm stunned I've never heard of this talented author, since at only 24 she's "the recipient of such prestigious writer's awards such as the O'Henry award and the Pulitzer Prize. In the world of respected authors the Pulitzer Prize is the biggest award that an author can receive." Needless to say, this person has never won either of the awards mentioned. This left me scratching my head. I think it's the sheer audacity of claiming you've won a Pulitzer, vs saying something like "my work has appeared in publications too numerous to name"... Oh wait, she does say something like that, on the order page for her single, self-published children's book.

(this post was bestowed upon thee by doyle, multiple Nobel Prize winner! And I won seven Academy Awards too, so nyah!)

LOL. I searched for her name online, and apparently she won some kind of semifinal in the Miss America beauty pageant (http://www.tftj.com/miss/USA02/A_F/locus01a.htm) (It really is her -- the picture matches the one at the book website). I don't think I've ever heard of a beauty pageant winner getting a Nobel Prize. :snerk:

That's baffling and hilarious. She also claims to have written hundreds of books (despite being only twenty-four years old). I guess she thinks this makes for better copy than "I'm a pathological liar and a fraud"!

Well, at least we know she didn't win the Pulitzer for Nonfiction.
