In honour of the Adherents of the Repeated Meme - to be seen on Doctor Who, sci-fi channel, this very evening - a meme.

Tell me the title of a story I haven't written, details optional, and I'll come up with a summary or synopsis.

Tired with her old 'do, Rose insists on visiting Zanzibarbara Prime, centre of the only known solar system in the galaxy to have elevated hairdressing to the very centre of their art, science and religion. As she's whisked away to one of the temples to have her haircut (or in the local parlance, communion with the great Zanzi) the Doctor has a look around. He explores the Great Library (full of old gossip and beauty magazines), visits Offcuts Mountain ('The Hairiest Place on Earth' (TM)) and is about to go and pick Rose up when he notices something odd: a woman with bad hair. Well, that wuoldn't be odd at all, except she's coming *out* of the temple, and any Zanzibarbarian would throw themselves on their own scissors before they'd allow someone to leave their planet with bad hair...

Suddenyl the Doctor realises that her hair's a wig, and the wig's concealing a bomb! He yells for everyone to get down and he leaps towards the woman but he's too late, and a blast of hairspray overpowers the crowd. The Doctor slumps to the ground, unconscious... [end of part one, OOooeeeoooo, trailer for next week]

Set during Parting of the Ways, it's the romantic and true tale of how the Emperor Dalek tries to woo Rose. "COME ON. WE'VE ALL SEEN THE PIC-TURES THAT DAL-EK IN UTAH UP-LOADED. YOU'RE A RIGHT GOER FOR THE RIGHT DAL-EK. AND I AM THE GOD OF ALL DAL-EKS! OBEY! OBEY! OBEY!"

Rose makes genuine Gallifreyan chicken soup from an old recipe book she finds lying around. Fuck knows why. She's probably got her period again.

Meanwhile, the Doctor remembers part of his Mysterious Past: he had another life in Gallifrey's Old Time, when he, Rassilon and Omega hosted a weekly competitive cookery show, challenging contestants to make a delicious meal from whatever Rassilon could round up in the Time Scoop. Overcome with guilt at the fate of a group of poor chickens snatched from Earth, the Doctor goes all emo. Then he remembers that he blew up Gallifrey and those clips are never going to show up on It'll Be Alright On the Night and he feels better.

*dies* And there's references to the Da Vinci code, to fit in with all Rusty's pop-culture references.

I'm good at imaginary titles. It's just titles for my actual stories that I suck at.

An Arc of Unnecessary Wings

if we're being literary

Toledo or Bust

if we're not
