You can't spell fannish divergence without 'fun'! Except you totally can.
March-ish 2005:
doyle_sb4 is persuaded, very reluctantly, to watch Rose, first episode of the new Doctor Who series; she whines that she's not at all interested in DW but is swayed by the fact that the episode's written by Russell T Davies, creator of (the original) Queer as Folk.
Three viewings of same episode later:
connorbeast asks "so, do you want to just write Buffy fandom that Dear John letter now?"
March 2006:
doyle_sb4 looks at her floor-to-ceiling bookcase full of DW books, videos and DVDs and thinks "you know, I must get onto that."
God, I hate it when I go third-person. Anyhoo, I'm just dropping a note here to say that if any of you guys have me friended purely for Buffyverse fic/stuff and are liable to be very annoyed if I start talking even more about Doctor Who than I have been doing - and I want to, it's my exclusive shiny lovely One True Fandom and I want to do the squeeing and reviewing thing and have been holding back for fear of annoying people, which is kind of insane - like it says on my userinfo, every day's defriending amnesty day and I understand completely if you want to take me off your reading list. (I'll probably reciprocate, since I'm rapidly approaching LJ's mythic 750 friends limit). I promise I will neither hunt you down like a wild dog nor shed an emo tear as I wonder where it all went wrong.

Heh. It's a little less - severe, let's say, for me because my OTF is still in the Jossverse (Firefly, if guessing is required). Not a DW fan, but I seem to recall promos on SciFi recently, so I expect to have more exposure to it soonish. I'm happy to stay friended, but I won't throw a tantrum if you don't keep me.

In other news, I got the new ('Mickey') issue of the Dr Who magazine today. Apparently Noel Clarke nearly died, very close to filming. And there are vague spoilers. Glorious, glorious vague spoilers...

I got DWM too - Noel Clarke is looking mighty fine [/shallow], and I'm dying to know now what he means with all that stuff about Mickey's last scene.
