Of the musicals meme, only one wasn't guessed correctly! You're all geeks

4. Joe is what they call Mid-Western - how to tell you what that means... This is Unexpected Song from Song and Dance. It's playing on my ipod now, as it happens.

The other lyrics meme:

1. The holy ghost and the whole east coast are moving to LA Whenever I do these things, Robbie Williams is a good bet. This is Mr. Williams singing Hot Fudge.

2. Lord only knows what kind of poison I'm drinking, I can't read the label / So I'll just dance off my cares like Fred Astaire up here on the table The jaunty After Hours by The Bluetones.

3. I'm waiting for UFOs to beam me up Okay, I should have given two lines. American Hi-Fi, The Breakup Song.

5. To see the look upon your face / When I launched you into space Barenaked Ladies, Some Fantastic

7. Soon we'll be without the moon Another one that could have done with an extra line. It's Nat King Cole, Let's Face the Music and Dance.

10. You're not as stupid as I look / Before I could read you wrote the book Robbie Williams again, Cursed, also known as my Spike/Angel theme. (I mean, "I'm still here and I'm cursed too, cursed like you" and "tell God he's got a dirty angel"? Mm.)

16. You're the last girl I'd look at if you were in a crowd Er. Incredible, by Darius. Yes, I'm properly ashamed of myself. [livejournal.com profile] marymac correctly guessed the artist, but presumably because she lives with me and my Darius-love.

20. Who could see that a man would come who would change the shape of my dreams I cheated. This is from a musical, but it came up on the playlist, so... it's Far From the Home I Love from Fiddler on the Roof, a movie I watched about ten billion times when I was very small.

23. Colour my life with the chaos of trouble / Cause anything’s better than posh isolation Belle and Sebastian's The Boy With the Arab Strap, AKA the theme from Teachers.

I was about 12 when Take That broke up, so I was exactly the right age to be in love with Robbie - and, embarrassed as I sometimes am over it, I still love him. He's *Robbie*, with the bounciness and the swing music and the big not-all-that ambiguous hints about his sexuality.

He looks entirely too much like my older brother for me to fancy him, but I fangirl him nonetheless.
