Went to the cinema last night for a double bill of Shanghai Knights and The Core. The second one bored the crap out of me (badly written, predictable, with unlikely characters and awful psuedoscience) but Shanghai Knights was a masterpiece for one good reason:

Aidan Gillen played the bad guy.

Fucking Aidan fucking GILLEN. Stuart from the UK Queer as Folk. I've never seen him in a movie before, so how much did I squee over seeing him with a major part that involved him sneering and walking around in formalwear? Mmmm. Need to see movie again.

Did you ever see the BBC version of Lorna Doone? AG was Carver Doone, boy, he looked good (better than farmer boy Jahn Ridd she was in love with, heh). I might be wrong, but I believe he had leather trousers on.
