doyleLast night I watched the Last Farscape Ever. I'm not a fan of the show - only seen four episodes, though I keep hearing how good it is and I'm going to watch it from the beginning at some point - but here's my
It's beautiful. John and Aeryn in a rowing boat on a sunny day. She confesses she's pregnant with his baby. He nearly capsizes the boat with his delighted reaction... and goes down on one knee, producing his mother's wedding ring. She accepts. Big kiss moment (this is where the series should have ended once they knew it was cancelled. The last two minutes cut have been cut.)
And then an alien ship screams down from the sky and blows them both to smithereens. They know it's coming and are both utterly calm in the face of death, both telling the other "I love you" ("your timing" Aeryn smiles ruefully) before disintegrating in one another's arms. The final shot is of Aeryn's engagement ring lying in the ash. And "To Be Continued".

connorbeast said it best when he commented "you would so kill to get that ending for Spuffy." I could only nod, emotionally wrecked but happy with the ending. I thought it was romantic and beautifully done, and have no idea how they were planning on season 5 with their two leads dead. Resurrection, I presume, and I'm interested to see if the version that airs in the US (am I right in thinking it hasn't gone out there yet?) will end at the same point or if the TBC is removed.
Damn, now I'm going to have to watch all four series.
Can't wait to get my Angel season 3 DVDs. They're at my "other" home, my parents' house, but I can't get there till the weekend. So next week is season 3 marathon time. Can't wait to see the outtakes. I hear tickling is involved.

S3 already?
on 2003-03-11 09:15 am (UTC)Lucky you!! And I think Buffy S6 is already out on DVD there, right? Over here, we're only up to S1 Angel and S3 Buffy. I don't know why the Hollywood studios do that, but it sucks big time.

I actually got desperate a few months back and bought the UK versions of Buffy S4 and S5 on DVD then fiddled with the regional settings on my work laptop's DVD player so that I could watch them. Now I can't play/run any US CDs or DVDs from that computer, but hey, it's worth it :-)
