Got 'em on SpoilerSlayer.
Sooo. Angel worked for the US government during the war. That's an... interesting piece of information.
And he and Spike met up aboard a Nazi submarine.
Ignoring how on Earth Spike didn't catch on then (or in the Boxer Rebellion) that Angel had a soul but worked it out in seconds in School Hard - and he doesn't work out that Angel's working for the good guys in WWII - this could be very funny. Intentionally funny or un will remain to be seen.
Gotta love those flashbacks.
And you have to admire a show that in one season has had Mexican Wrestlers, Robot Ninjas and now Vampire Nazis.

Hee. I thought the same thing.
I'm really curious to see how, or even if, they'll address Spike noticing Angel's soul. In times of stress his soul radar (souldar!) is down?

I also wonder what they're going to have Spike looking like... WWII is a couple decades before punk....

I dunno. This was so much a modern sounding Angel that when I read the casting sides I honestly thought it was a time-travel ep more than a proper flashback one.

Of course, the shallow part of my brain cares not one whit about continuity if it means Angel in a uniform.

My one-sentence boil-down of it: "So Angel is Forrest Gump now? Kay."

Okay, you got me on that one. I just like to think that really old vampires wouldn't have to make up stories to try impressing their friends with.

I am just so amused by that. As long as they had sex on the submarine, I can let everything else go. ;)
I have a theory that this season of Angel is trying to be MustangSally and RivkaT's stories, only without the Spuffy. They did "Changes" and now they are throwing in the Nazi story.

In 'School Hard' Spike doesn't say he's discovered Angel has a soul, he just calls him an 'Uncle Tom' - like he can't believe the soul has finally got the better of the vampire. You've got me thinking now...hmmm
