Harris's sheer panic when he saw Anya flipping through the book of baby names was the first thing all summer that lifted Spike's mood.

"Men," Anya huffed, after her boyfriend had made a speedy exit. "You'd think he'd be happy I was thinking about producing small humans. Women's sex drives can greatly increase during pregnancy."

Dawn leafed through the book. " 'Dawn - sunrise'. Way original." She flipped to a page near the end. "Hey, William means 'protector'."

There was silence. Spike looked at her. Remembered her sister and 'till the end of the world.'

"I need a smoke," he said.
