Another one

It's 3am. I should sleep but these are oddly addictive...

Talitha Kumi

He remembers the girls the best, though his memory is muddled these days and the faces run together. But he sees them, broken and bloodied, and he begs forgiveness till his throat is raw but they just stare at him with blank, dead eyes.

He rocks on his heels in the corner of the basement, hugging himself, and in his mind he's back in Sunday school long ago and the pastor is telling them about Jesus raising the little girl from death.

"Talitha kumi," Spike whispers to himself - maiden, arise - but the dead girls can't, won't hear him.

I knew that that phrase sounded familar -- Sunday School, it is. That hits me in the gut.

That is seriously freaky. I'll have to stop reading your stuff—it's making mine very macabre!
