To my Yuletide Santa:
First off, a double apology: sorry for the lateness of this letter (I completely changed my sign up at the very last minute and until I got my hands on the computer with my sign-up email I wasn't 100% sure what my requests were) and sorry for any general incoherence in the requests themselves. As I say, last minute change, very late at night...
Anyway, thanks so much for volunteering to write in my fandoms! I'm hugely excited about the prospect for fic in any of these and I know I'll be delighted with whatever you come up with. My general likes and dislikes: I love humour, fics expanding on bits of canon, zany schemes, comedic misunderstandings, ensembles, dialogue, characters sounding like themselves, AUs where the canon branches off in a different direction, happy or at least hopeful endings; I love gen, het, slash, femslash, threesomes; I'm not all that fond of PWPs, and I really dislike non-con and character or ship bashing, even of characters I personally dislike.
Lost in Austen
I said: Any. I'm easy in this fandom, though I'm veering towards the words 'comedy romp' while thinking of this request: an extrapolation of what we see in canon would be lots of fun (I'd love to see everybody at Amanda and Darcy's wedding), or Elizabeth's adventures in our world, or Caroline and Wickham causing gleeful chaos together. If you tend in the slashy direction, any combination of Darcy, Wickham and Bingley would be great (I'm happy with some angst here), as would Amanda and any of the girls.
One thing I should have added is that I know some people had problems with Lost in Austen because Elizabeth/Darcy's such an OTP: it's not one of mine. I'm a terrible philistine who thinks the way it turned out in LoA was much more fun, so I'm not in favour of fixit fic where the 'right' couples get together after all (unless it's a background device to facilitate some post-series Amanda femslash. That's fine.) I'm also not hugely familiar with Jane Austen's other books - philistine, again - so anything with, say, Emma being a major character is likely to be lost on me.
St Trinians
I said: Any. Annabelle/Kelly (femslash or friendship) while they're still at school - I love the ensemble and the whole school set-up so some involvement of the other characters would be great, and something Christmassy or in the grand tradition of British girls boarding school stories (midnight feasts, practical jokes on the teachers) would be gravy.
I love, love trad girls school stories of the Enid Blyton/Antonia Forest/Angela Brazil ilk and that's a big part of the appeal of St Trinians to me - don't worry if you're not familiar with that genre, it just means I'd really prefer a story about the pupils, and set while they're still at school. As well as Annabelle/Kelly I'm very fond of Miss Dickinson/Chelsea, and a gen story about female friendship would make me as happy as femslash. I'd rather not have het as the focus, though background Camilla/Geoffrey's fine.
The IT Crowd
I said: Maurice Moss/Roy. Any funny Moss/Roy, slash preferred (not established relationship if at all possible) but gen about their friendship's great too. Some nerdy event would be fun.
By nerdy event I was thinking a con or a LAN party, but a movie night, RP session, anything where they can get their nerd on would be awesome. Or dispense with that altogether: so long as it's got Moss being Moss-like I'm happy. By all means bring in Jen, Douglas, Denholm or whoever. I don't mind if it's season 3 compliant or ignores it completely, since it'll only be a few episodes in when the stories are due.
Coupling UK
I said: I'd like slash involving Jeff (don't mind which of the blokes he's paired with), comedy and typical Jeff-like things going wrong preferred to angst; if slash isn't your thing then Sally/Patrick's one of my big canon OTPs.
I don't like Susan much but as I say, I hate character bashing, so if you go for Steve/Jeff while Steve's with Susan, it'd be great if Susan wasn't made out to be an evil bitch. Same with Jeff/Patrick while Patrick's with Sally. (Jeff/Patrick related to the episode where one of Patrick's girlfriends tries to get them to have a threesome would be terrific). Pre, during or post-series is fine - I kind of hate season 4, so I'd prefer no involvement of Oliver.
Anyway, I've rambled on enough, so once again - thanks so much for writing for me, and I'm sorry this has taken so long!
