Old School Doctor Who Episodes Love Meme

I've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.

I've always liked this one better than Kinda. I like the way the Doctor gets the archaeologist's goat with the five-headed hat (okay, that sounds strange, but you know what I mean), and I love Tegan being taken over and completely breaking down at the end. I am also quite amused at Martin Clunes being in the cast :) (Also? I want one of those little blue crystals!)

Me too. I like Kinda, but I really love Snakedance.

It seems most people remember this serial for being a strong Tegan story, but I preferred the scenes with the Doctor and Nyssa. They interacted a lot and there was some very interesting stuff going on there, especially if you're open to shipping them.

Definitely. Five and Nyssa is what I flail remember about from this serial.

Nyssa's brilliant, too. It's been too long since I've seen it to remember much that she does specifically, other than getting locked up with the Doc, but Nyssa is brilliant by definition, IMHO. :)

Like the above comments, I prefer this a LOT to Kinda - and I love Kinda. It has one of the coolest planets in the series, I reckon - amazing sets, atmosphere, and costumes (aside from Nyssa and That Ceremonial Gear). And it's philosophical! And there's a piece of music on Whomix called 'Snakedance' that gives me CHILLS!

Kick-ass serial in which the Doctor invents the iPod! Tegan is the Heir of Slytherin! And there are blue mind-enhancing crystals like in Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series.
