I've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.

For some help navigating, this wiki page has the serials in order.

If any have been missed, feel free to stick them on at the end - I've just realised The Myth Makers isn't there...

"You mean you still practice teleportation? How quaint! Now if you got yourself a decent forklift truck..."

What? No lovin'? This one was ace, and I found getting through the Sarah'n'Four alone ones a bit tedious, so that means it was extra good. Another short recap, reposted! (With spoilers, natch).

This one was really, really good. There was tons of plot and backstory (all sorts of Time Lord-y stuff!) and specifically, murderous, megalomaniacal Time Lords. Plus, it retold Frankenstein, yay! I liked Solon quite a lot, laughed at Morbius' brain, thought the stitched-together body was quite horrifying, loved Condo (how sad that he had to die, even if it was expected for the plot - and how gory, damn...), and loved Sarah's quick thinking at pretending to be drugged and then saving the Doctor from TEH FLAMES. But speaking of TEH FLAMES, god, were the Sisterhood a really low-rent new agey lesbian wicca collective, or what? ;)

But yes, some quite good bits for the Doctor as well, and the dark and stormy night, the rain, driving the monster off the cliff with torches - great stuff. And I liked the idea of a group of women who were as powerful as the Time Lords, but the execution was a bit dodgy. Oh, but I loved the bit where the Doctor challenged Chop Suey to a BRAIN BATTLE. FTW!

Blind Sarah scaling cliffs to find the Doctor is my favorite Sarah moment. OMG, missy. Possibly followed closely by Sarah cleverly feigning unconsciousness to trick the scientist.

Amid all the gothic horror, I remember Sarah and the Doctor at their chummiest. When I think of them being "best friends," I think of their little in-joke giggle over the Doctor's hair.
