Old School Doctor Who Episodes Love Meme
Mar. 20th, 2008 11:32 pmI've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.
For some help navigating, this wiki page has the serials in order.
If any have been missed, feel free to stick them on at the end - I've just realised The Myth Makers isn't there...

The Krotons

on 2008-05-07 06:29 pm (UTC)I liked this lots, as is to be expected since it had Jamie and Zoe in it, and Two being marvellous fun. The parts where he got competitive with Zoe and pissy over her skills were priceless. His fierce loyalty and concern for her was wonderful as well; insisting she couldn't go into the machine alone. Jamie was sidelined for part of this one, but still got in some good bits - despite his 'primitive brain', he kept the machines talking, damaged them, escaped, and helped with the acid (in quite a funny little scene with the scientist). And he charged into danger to help the Doctor and Zoe - bless.
The plot was pretty good too, for a while I had no idea what would result, and I love when it's a good mystery. It wasn't the best ever, but solid and fun, with some good scares. And very, very best of all was the fact that Zoe was wearing No Trousers - the No Trousers to end all No Trousers, stealing the title away from Altos. I don't think you can even call that a micromini. Everytime she moved about I winced, thinking that would be the time I'd see her knickers. Plus, what she was wearing was right up in a mock turtleneck, but also made out of PVC. Oh Zoe, you are teh awesome.
