I've run memes like this before for companions and for ships (and I'm trying to dig up links to those) and decided it might be fun to try one for all the episodes of old school Doctor Who. In the comments are threads for every story from An Unearthly Child to The TV Movie (actually, The Curse of Fatal Death, because I couldn't leave Lumley Doc out); reply to these comments with what you loved about the episode, whether it's favourite lines, moments, squee for the rubbish dinosaurs, character love, shippiness, screencap picspam, or just 'best episode ever'. No harshing others' squee, please - there are 160 serials linked, there must be some you loved... Loving on stories generally derided by fandom is positively encouraged.

For some help navigating, this wiki page has the serials in order.

If any have been missed, feel free to stick them on at the end - I've just realised The Myth Makers isn't there...

I love the storybook setting, and how the Doctor messes up and creates not!Jamie and then brings him back. I watched it a year ago for the first time, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. It's such a great example of old!Who's original very-kid-oriented roots, combined with elements we still look for today, like the Doctor nearly being forced to take over for the Master.

I love so much about this one! The whole crazy idea is genius, and the way they just run with it, incorporating fictional(-er) characters from fairy tales and cartoons, and the crazy way the team joins the game to find a way out.

Also, the scene where the TARDIS breaks open! Not just for shiny Zoe, I really think that's a great visual. Plus, shiny Zoe.

This was the first serial of classic Who I ever saw on purpose (as opposed to catching bits of it by chance on TV reruns). I fell instantly in love with the Second Doctor and Jamie, and began to adore Zoe when she beat up Karkus.

The great thing about this storyline is how consistently, wonderfully inventive it is. The stuff with Gulliver, for instance, where they only use actual lines from Gulliver's Travels, makes my inner book geek extremely happy. I wish TV was as clever as this more often.

So creative and visually memorable. And, of course, saving the world with fanfic!

I love this story. Tiny sparkly Zoe beating up the Karkus whilst the Doctor holds her coat (even better: it's actually Jamie's coat that she's been wearing) is one of my favourite scenes in anything, ever.

All of episode 1. Made with just the three regulars on a budget of whatever the producer could find down the back of the sofa, and it is amazing.
The novelisation.
And, of course, evil Jamie and Zoe.

This was my first episode I watched of Two, and I instantly fell in love with him, Jamie, and Zoe. It was so clever and fun! I was entertained the whole way through. Plus, the idea of the Doctor essentially writing fanfiction to save them was hilarious. :D
