I take it everyone's heard THAT major Doctor Who season 4 casting spoiler by now? Typical, that would break when it's my turn to do

who_daily tomorrow.

Anyway, my spec:

So, that's Rose confirmed, we already knew Jack and Martha were returning, can it be long before the tabloids' reports about Sarah, K9, Mickey and Jackie coming back are confirmed too? Add in Kylie and that's nine companions plus the Doctor. I'm sure he can find one more companion from somewhere - Jake, or Pete Tyler, or one of the Joneses - and that means he's got enough for a football team, in an Epic Match Across the Ruins of Gallifrey against the Master's timescooped squad of Daleks, Cybermen, Axons (possibly in the Christmas special! No, seriously! Axons!), Macra, Davros... the Black Guardian could referee... K9's rubbish in goal... Donna gets sent off for nutting The Kandyman...

But srsly, the important questions about season 4:
- is Mickey coming back?
- is the Master coming back?
- if Mickey is coming back, can he possibly be as cool as he was in Army of Ghosts/Doomsday?
- if Mickey comes back will we get canon Mickey/Jake?
- are we going to get to see a Rose/Jack reunion?
- more importantly, are we going to get to see the Doctor sulking in his room and refusing to come out as his phalanx of companions have a whale of a time without him?
- will this spawn appropriately large amounts of Donna/Rose, Rose/Martha, Donna/Rose/Martha, Rose/Sarah, Martha/Mickey, etc fic?

That's definitely what I'm hoping. I have reservations about it, but . . . but . . . think of the fic!

I didn't know that Jack was coming back! Eeee! I hope he has more to do than his 'SHOW UP; DIE REPEATEDLY; VANISH AGAIN' role in the last series.

I would pay good money to see the football event. I admit I wasn't too thrilled to hear this, but I suppose I better get used to it.

As much as I would love that to happen, don't count on it too much. Noel's doing tons of other things right now. Not only acting, he's also directing. He's currently working on a sequel to Kidulthood which is called... "Adulthood (http://imdb.com/title/tt1126596/)". (Didn't see that coming, huh?)

*sadface* And now I'm worried he'll be killed off offscreen...

That would suck, as while he annoyed me at first Mickey became one of my favourite characters.

Since last thing I heard, RTD was one of the few people who wanted to see Mickey and Rose back together in the other universe, doubt we'll get Mickey/Jake.

Beyond that, no idea (or depressing ones, which I'll spare you).

I could live with Mickey/Rose, provided he doesn't get dumped for the Doctor again.

I'm very against it, for reasons far too long and ranty to explain on someone else's livejournal.

IS it bad of me to wish this wasn't happening? I have 0 invested in any ships but I see looming heartbrake for a few friends. Besides, Donna will be lost in the crowd!

Hee! Yes, I'm horribly bad at updating these days, apart from times like these when I'm spending the entire day hanging around waiting to get into the lab.

Seeing all the spoilers/spec in one place has me convinced that next season will be a total, all-over-the-place, disasterous mess.

Sorta like "The Five Doctors." *considers* Okay, bring it!

Well personally I'm hoping for Rose/Martha/Donna/Jack/Sarah Jane/Mickey with the Doctor off sulking in the TARDIS as he realises they've all discovered that actually they're quite fine without him thank you very much, until of course the Master turns up in a last minute twist to keep him distracted with gratuitous flirting and UST as they battle across the stars :)

Best season ever!

Now if they could get Chris Ecclestone back too -- I'd love to see the Doctor accidently cross his own timeline with Nine, Rose, and Jack running into Ten, Martha, and jack. Could be fun.

I actually picked that up on Wank_Report, the only Journalfen community I could get to for most of yesterday. The mice are wanking on page 18.

Julia, and I'm for Rose/Mickey, because Rose/Ten makes some unfunny people get all eloquent in their disapproval

I am really hoping for some great Rose/Martha interaction of a School Reunion sort (i.e., snark followed by bonding!).

Why not pick another old-school companion for the football team? Leela's probably dead, unfortunately, but Ace? Or they could go back in time and reintroduce the Doctor to Jamie. If there's a tenth new-school companion, I vote for Maria. She'd kick ass.

Maybe if we all close our eyes and wish really hard your most excellent questions will be answered...especially Mickey/Jake, the duo of cool.

The Age of Steel was just on TV and gah, I forgot that Mickey saved the day with his haxxor skillz and zeppelin piloting and it's possibly the most ridiculous episode of the new series but Mickey's so hot and so adorable with Jake that I love it to bits. <3 <3
