2/3 of the way through my Rose ficathon fic, AKA Rose and Ace's adventures in cross-dressing; when I finish that up I'm going to finish reading The Beekeeper's Apprentice and then stalk my library for the rest of the series, because I've never been so wrong in the 'I'm really going to hate this book, aren't I?' stakes. Well, not since I read my first Poirot novel, followed by 25 more of them, earlier this year. Apparently I have a thing for detectives, which I suppose is a natural jump from my thing for people who Fight Crime.

Oh, and The Sarah Jane Adventures finished. I have only one two things to say:

Clyde saved the world, and I find the fact that he can type with his eyes closed (on an imaginary keyboard) oddly endearing.

Sarah versus the MOTORCYCLE NINJA! was the single greatest moment in the entire series. It would only have been better, as Kevin suggested, if he'd been a motorcycle ninja with bees in his mouth. And the 'bet that stung' line she had immediately after would have been a Bondian quip, too.

Right, so come and talk to me when you've done reading! :-D

Thank God I didn't read this book as a teenager. Because I would have written so much awful OOC Russell/Holmes schmoop.

The remarkable fact about you is the fact that, no longer being a teenager, you are no longer likely to do that. Which is more than can be said about the majority of Russell fans. Who are more than old enough to know better.

Man, I can't believe I don't have any more Russell icons.

Clyde is wonderful, he didn't overly panic, he just buckled down to figuring out a way to warn them all :) Also adored Alan's insult of 'you overgrown newt!' - he deserves a Dad of the Year award or something similar.

Alan is the Best Dad Ever, and I'm so glad they didn't conveniently wipe his memory (which is what I expected would happen)

I love Clyde so much. I might have to actually get an icon of him soon.

Ahahaha oh, the motorcyclists. I sort of blotted it from memory, it was so WTF.

I laugh my most evil laugh whenever a new intelligent reader discovers their Russell love. (Intelligent reader != most of the fandom.)

I'm trying to reconcile what I've read so far in the first book with things you've said about the fandom, meaning that I spent most of the commute to the university boggling over how a couple who canonically spend one Christmas Day dissecting a poisoned sheep can be turned into fluffy love-bunnikins in fic.

So should we find you some non-jailbait computer nerds then?

HE'S NOT JAILBAIT HE'S 20. The fact that I looked this up is in no way pervy

Uh-huh.
Well, computer nerds in the right country?

[I didn't accidentally misplace that comment at all. No.]
