This has to be the only time the BBC has ever used the phrase "plague of ferocious badgers" in a news report:

'British forces have denied rumours that they released a plague of ferocious badgers into the Iraqi city of Basra.'

I first read that as "a plague of ferocious bludgers."

Which honestly did not make it any weirder.
