I spent a good bit of last evening in bed with a crippling migraine. I was dozing on and off, and I assume it was a mix of that and the industrial strength painkillers that had me convinced at one point that someone in fandom had put a voodoo spell on me. I bet it was one of you lot. I'm sure it was inspired by jealousy at one of you psychically realising I'd beaten Guitar Hero on Hard.

There is nothing doing at my work right now. I have maybe an hour of work to stretch to fill a day. This sounds great, but my desk faces the main office and my boss has a nasty habit of walking past as I'm reading Livejournal: with my probation period up next month, I'm thinking it would do no harm to keep an eye on the Jobfinder just in case they (justifiably) decide they don't have enough work to maintain a full-time position.

Stuff what I need to do this weekend:
- Sarah gen ficathon fic (tonight)
- start poking at my essay for history class. I do this on Monday nights. The essay topic is the experience of African-Americans in the two World Wars. I haven't written an academic essay since GCSE History, 7 years ago, so that should be... fun...
- finish watching The Invasion. Convince fandom at large that Zoe/Isabelle is the real OTP of Old Skool Who.
- resist buying more books from Amazon marketplace since I seem to be spending about £100 a month there and am running out of storage space. (ETA: according to the datestamp on this entry, I managed not to buy anything for three whole minutes. I'm so weak. But I seem to have developed a minor obsession for books about England between the wars, so if anybody happened to have recs...)

Well, of course it is! Anyone with half an eye could see that! :)

I was wondering whether I'd need to do any sort of crash research on the 60s to write Invasion fic, then remembered:
- I'm not entirely sure what year it's set in
- fandom at large isn't entirely sure what year it's set in
- whether it's the late 60s or early 70s it's a strange alternate world with computer secretaries and things so strict historical accuracy's probably not all that important.

Yep, I don't think you have to worry about historical accuracy with that one!

Zoe/Isobelle is probably the most canonical femslash pairing in all of Who. It boggles my mind. I love it so, hahaha.

"Zoe, we must go and investigate this sinister electronics company!"
"I'll tell you what, why don't you boys do that and I'll stay here to let Isabelle take pictures of me?"
"Well... if you're sure..."

BEST COMPANION EVAR.

Ahaha, I just got watching The Invasion today (I'm halfway through, eps 5-8 will have to wait until I'm not preparing for a major uni presentation) and I was like "dude, Isabelle and Zoe are so OTP!" so I put them into Google and this journal entry of yours came up XDDD

Hee! But they are, so very much. I love Zoe's priorities; the boys can do all that silly investigating stuff, she's going to stay and pose suggestively for the pretty girl in the miniskirt...
