Fic link

The Martha ficathon over on [livejournal.com profile] lifeonmartha is producing some fabulous fic, made all the more brilliant by the fact that it's all about someone we've never seen and know next to nothing about (this continues to amuse me. Because I am a child.) My contribution's over on the community:

Title: Wouldn’t You Like To Get Away
Author: Doyle
Fandom: Doctor Who
Characters: Martha, Ten
Rating: PG
Notes: for the Marthathon for [livejournal.com profile] rainyd who wanted either the Doctor coming through a window and interrupting Martha’s studies or Martha leaving the Doctor of her own accord. I decided to combine the two, therefore this has the unusual distinction of being set after the departure of a companion who hasn’t arrived yet.
Summary: Months after she left the Doctor, Martha gets a surprise visit.

Thisaway.

(Argh, my dad's new computer switches the " and @ on the keyboard. I've downloaded the drivers but it's still doing it. Help?)

I couldn't resist checking this out, and even joining the comm (may not stay though), because it's fun to watch people trying to write for a character we know nothing about.

Is the "stupid Aqua song" by any chance "Turn Back Time"?

Hee! I'd totally forgotten that song and it works perfectly too... I was thinking 'Doctor Jones' since just about the only thing we know about Martha is that her last name is Jones and she's a medical student.

I didn't remember that song, but I just looked up the lyrics and since it's about "missing you," that one does seem like the most perfect fit. :-)

It seems like your dad's comp is set to US standards. Silly Mericans swapping things about. Sadly I have no idea how to change it over.

Have had to do this before -

If the computer's an XP machine then the following might help:
-Select [Control Panel] then [Regional and Language Options]
- On the [Regional and Language Options|Languages] tab select [Details] and set the Default input language as English(UK)
- On the [Regional and Language Options|Advanced] tab set Language for non-Unicode programs as English(UK).

After various [OK]s the computer should restart and reset the settings.
