Any Xena fans out there on Ye Olde Friends List? I've been getting the DVDs from Blockbuster and watching episodes more or less at random, and I was wondering if there are specific ones I should be looking out for. Basically, I like 'em standalone, comedy and with the Xena/Gabrielle turned up to 11 or so. So far I've seen the musical, the magnificently fanficcy one where everything Gabrielle writes comes true and the groundhog day one. I crave more.

Oh, I'm willing to drop both the standalone and comedy requirements if the Xena/Gabrielle is good. I saw these on Sky ages ago and I'm sure I remember snogging while someone is possessing someone else? Yes? No?

Erm, my housemate suggested there's an episode where they have a bath together but he doesn't remember anything about the plot, so finding that one would be nice...

The snogging-while-possessed is 'Destiny'/'The Quest' in season two. I second that the bath one is 'A Day In The Life', and also I believe 'Legacy' in season six. Oh, and 'Altared States' from season one. There's a lot of bathing!

Also, [livejournal.com profile] ladyvivien and I did a X/G marathon over the weekend and I'd recommend watching 'A Family Affair', 'One Against An Army', 'The Abyss', 'The Rheingold' through 'Return Of The Valkyrie', 'Send In The Clones', 'Many Happy Returns', and the shippiest of the lot, 'When Fates Collide'. Most of those are stand-alone, although the Rheingold/Ring/Valkyrie stuff is a three-parter (but oh so much with the X/G). And 'A Family Affair' requires some plot knowledge for the third season, so if you're not out for spoilers, maybe avoid that one.

I keep promising I'm making myself an icon that says 'Xena: gayer than The L Word'. Because it really, really is.

I second everything you said. Oh yes.

And also add 'The Ides of March', because it's just one of the best of the entire series anyway. And 'Deja Vu All Over Again' is great fun.

'You Are There' has its share of hilarity and hinted X/G as well.

Yaaay Xena.
