Supernatural
There are two hot brothers called Dean and Sam. They are deeply and occasionally angstily in love. From the title of the show I'm guessing they're supernatural investigators of some sort, but that's really a shot in the dark.
BSG
A bit of a cheat since I've seen the pilot about three times and a later episode: or maybe the first episode? Um, they all had sleep deprivation because the Cylons were attacking every 40 minutes. Anyway, I know the basic stuff like Ray K being a Cylon and Baltar being Teh Crazy, but stuff I've picked up from elsewhere: the mum from Donnie Darko is President Roslin. She's the messiah and has lots of sex, especially with Lee, who has Manpain. I don't know why. Lee is also seeing Kara on the side, except in the last episode she ended up barefoot and pregnant (not by Lee) and this filled people with raaaage. Kara likes to paint and write poetry on the walls of her flat. Also Roslin banned abortion that one time.
Stargate
The US army finds a big portal that lets them travel to other star systems, where there are aliens who are also Egyptian gods. The main character is MacGuyver and he's in True Love Forever with Daniel Jackson, who is smart and wears glasses and is fanon!Wesley-from-Angel. They call each othe things like Silver Fox and have dozens of babies to prove their love. (I may not have seen the show but I've read lots of bad fanfic). When he's not being OTP with Daniel, Jack likes to get off with Sam in parallel universes, but if they got together in the real world it would end their careers forever, oh no! At some point Daniel turned into an octopus (but got better later on) and Jack retired or otherwise left the show. He was replaced by Ben Browder and Claudia Black, who go around looking hot.
Stargate Atlantis
Is about someone called McKay, who is sarcastic and geeky and The God of Sex. It is the comic/tragic/porny tale of his romance with someone called Sheppard. Given the proliference of this pairing on my flist, I'm guessing Sheppard's male and hot. Sheppard is also pretty damn keen on Weir, except when she's having femslashy action with Teyla. (T'eyla?) Again, the title leads me to believe this is set on Atlantis, but that's just a guess. Maybe it's a Futurama spinoff in the lost city of Atlanta?
Bones
David Boreanaz is a cop who helps a forensic pathologist fight crime. Possibly she is called Bones, like Dr McCoy in Star Trek.
Veronica Mars
Teenage girl solves mystery of her friend's murder; the friend is caleld Lilly Kane and was a ghost and was also in Mean Girls; Veronica was sort of drug-raped at a party by Duncan, who she thought was her brother but isn't; her BFF is called Wallace; the person who drugged her was Logan, who is either a misunderstood woobie or the spawn of Satan. He's going out with Veronica and had something to do with underground boxing once. Also, like Sawyer from Lost, he is Exactly Like Spike. The end of the first season caused vast fandom schisms. At some point a person of unknown identity was outside a door. This was a Big Thing.
Grey's Anatomy
Quirky medical show about female junior doctors who are all having sex with each other, making me suspicious as to what the junior doctors I used to live with got up to when I was out.
