Apr. 24th, 2006 09:32 pmA very useful meme:
How many times has someone on your friends list posted about something and you were really confused, but you didn't want to ask because you knew you SHOULD know? How many times have you felt 'guilty' asking a close LJ friend a question that should be 'obvious'? Well, here's your chance. If you've missed a few things, missed an entry and are confused, ask me any thing. Even something EXTREMELY basic, like where I live! I'm not allowed to get even slightly irritated at any of the questions - we've all missed things before.
And the 'not that it's entirely unexpected, but what the shit?' link of the day: K9 animated spinoff on the way.
'K9 Adventures will be a 26-episode comedy-fantasy series set in outer space. The new-look K9 is a galactic crime-fighter...'
Ahahahaha. Oh, god. It will be awful and I will watch every week.

Will try to update my journal more often. But life as a polar bear dancer doesn't allow for a causal updates to the journal.

on 2006-04-24 10:14 pm (UTC)In a little bit more detail: the Doctor is from a race of highly advanced aliens, the Time Lords. They can change their physical body and personality when they die, which they can do 12 times, and have powers of time travel but are a stagnant society, preferring to observe than get involved with anything. For reasons never explained the Doctor steals a time/space machine, the TARDIS - which can disguise itself as anything but gets stuck in the form of a 1960s police telephone box - and goes on the run.
The Christopher Eccleston series is about the Ninth Doctor: he's a bit angsty because his home world and people have been destroyed in a war. Then he meets up with Rose, who's from present-day London, and they do the usual travelling-in-time-and-space thing.
It is the perfect fandom for me because the canon is *enormous*: 40 years worth of TV, books and audios. And it can go anywhere and cross over with anything, which is very handy, fanfic wise. I am all in favour of rubbish wobbly monsters and planets that are clearly Welsh quarries, too.

on 2006-04-25 10:18 pm (UTC)I don't want to freak you out, but did you used to write under the name of Corleone, what - six, seven years ago? Because if you did, I remember you from a Yahoo group. I'm not a stalker, I swear!
And yeah, the K9 series will be fantastically crap - doesn't Disney have a hand in it, or something?
