Oh, how I love the Doctor Who short stories from Big Finish.

On their first day here [Susan] had met four children and a dog, and they had invited her to go camping on a small island which one of them owned. An unlikely story, but they seemed nice children, unlikely to drag her into mischief.

...

The air in the room shimmered and a girl appeared. She was looking down at her feet and talking.

"Timmy! Stop licking me! I said..." She trailed off as she looked up and around. "Oh! Where are the smugglers? Grandfather?"

It's wrong to want to reread the Famous Five books just to write Five (and Susan) Against the Daleks. Just as it's wrong to want Pride and Prejudice fic with Jack in it.

I assume that by 'wrong,' you actually mean 'a fabulously good idea,' yes. :D

*whispers* I've never read Pride and Prejudice all the way through. Yet I need Jack/Lydia and/or Jack-flirting-outrageously-with-everyone. Need it like burning omg.

Yes, Jack needs to run amok in P&P...

[identity profile] livii.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Even though I don't know more than the basics about either the FF or P&P, it's good, very good, very good idea indeed. *hypnotizes you*

More people need to write DW crossovers, damnit. There is nowhere the TARDIS can't go. It's made for crossovers! And then there's Jack! *grumbles*

[identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The Tardis is like L-Space in a way... endless possibilities. And yet no one writes the crossovers, even when the connections could really work.

Mind you, I may just be a bit strange. I wrote First Doctor meeting Aziraphale, so that's all too possible.

Ooh, I thought at one point about writing Harriet Jones meeting Aziraphale. Or the politician who got killed in Aliens of London, Indra Ganesh, being the god Ganesh a la American Gods but that would require actual research

Those two ideas would be so much fun. Though the second one probably would involve far too much work. *grin*

Famous Five against the Daleks. *giggle* That's priceless.

(And then my mind went off on a tangent about who had actually owned the island and what it was called. You can tell my childhood influences. *grin*)

LOL. Famous Five and Daleks?! That's genius.

This must happen. I need it. Timmy needs it. The World needs it.

No, no, no, they are fantastic ideas! Even though when you said "Famous Five" I was thinking of E. Nesbit's "Five Children and It". Because you just *know* that the Psammead must have been acquainted with the Doctor at some point in their long histories!

And there's never enough good Jack fic. Ever.

and when you say wrong.... you meant, absolutely fabulous idea? Can you imagine how Darcy would react to Jack? *giggles to death*
