Things:

- We beat England. WE FUCKING BEAT ENGLAND. (this is football I'm talking about, for you Yanks and other internationals - proper football, which I think you lot call soccer, and more importantly World Cup football, meaning even I'm interested in it.) This is a shock, to put it mildly, since the pre-match mood of *everyone* here was a jolly "we're going to get thrashed, but we're going to get thrashed by England! Excellent!"

- the commentary on Earthshock is hysterical, covering such important topics as Peter Davison trying to see up Janet Fielding's skirt, confirmation that Five takes Tegan with him into dangerous situations instead of the more logical army types because it proves his heterosexuality, Janet Fielding giving commentary on all Doctor Who fashions, and a discussion on whether Matthew Waterhouse's dislike of episodes featuring caves is at all Freudian.

Aw! I'm pleased, even though I don't have any connections with Northern Ireland. England as a football team are strangely unlikeable. They sem to expect to win because of the money they earn or something. Yay for small teams! (Are there any City players on the squad?)

Also the Earthshock commentary sounds fantastic! Davison is such a love. But... there are Doctor Who fashions? In the 80s?
