(no subject)

I just started episode three of Big Finish's audio drama Doctor Who and the Pirates: omfg it's a musical episode. And I use omg, omfg and zomg far too much, often as punctuation, but this warrants it. A Gilbert and Sullivan episode!

I'm not content to just observe,I am a bold adventurer.
Though other Time Lords mock this Gallifreyan interventioner,
I know in every matter that a Time Lord really should hold dear
I am the very model of a Gallifreyan Buccaneer.

*eeeeeee*

Also, Six/Evelyn OTP. She's rather Harriet Jones-ish, and I approve.

OMFG!

The meta slays me. During his song the Doctor mentions what I presume is a dubious bit of continuity and then ponders "Mm. Not sure if that's canonical."

Hee! Brilliant.

I haven't heard any of the Big Finish adventures yet (though I'm loving the Power of the Daleks audio version...).

I've listened to three of the Fifth Doctor ones, Creatures of Beauty, Phantasmagoria and Omega. Really liked them all (and Phantasmagoria is very like The Unquiet Dead and has The League of Gentlemen in it). I loved Master, which has Seven and the Master and is full of Angst and is entirely about the Doctor/Master True Love.

You are exactly right! And yet there are people who do not like this story, and consider part three to be its nadir. I do not understand these people at all.

I actually prefer BBVs output to Big Finish in all honesty. Firstly they seem to be better quality, especially in the sound effects department, and secondly, no offence to Lisa Bowerman, who was brill in Survival, but BBV doesn't feature Bernice 'Big Fat Mary Sue' Summerfield.
