A couple of people on my flist today have linked to the superb superdickery.com, and I was inspired to spend my lunchhour capping my downloaded Lois Lane comics. I thought I'd grab a few of the more WTF panels, give a brief overview of the title, but this proved impossible since every single issue is crammed with insanity and bursting with bizarr(o)ness. But here are a few pics anyway:
Lois Lane: Girl Reporter (as we're reminded every issue) and also Superman's Girl Friend, according to the comic's title. Note the two separate words. I'm a little disappointed that Jimmy Olsen only gets to be Superman's Pal, not his Boy Friend, but that's the way the kryptonite crumbles. Anyway, Lois is quite a character. She's moral...

easy-going...

a true believer in fair play...

and whatever foul lies may be put about, absolutely does not kill every man she falls for.

Her superhero fetish is exaggerated, too.

I mean, people bandy about the slur 'cape groupie' just because she was engaged to Batman, had a fling with Aquaman, kissed The Green Arrow... anyway.

Lois's main rival is Superman's other Girl Friend, Lana Lang. Lana's a shy, retiring sort of girl who wouldn't like to put herself forward.

Naturally, Clark is delighted to be the target for two beautiful women'sstalking affection. Why, he couldn't be happier when Lana calls off her wedding because she can't get over Superman.

And when Lois is hypnotized to forget Superman exists, he's devastated. It takes a brave, brave man to put on this convincing a front when his heart lies in pieces.

Of course, he's often much too busy with important superheroing to bother about things like romance.

But when it comes down to it, he does much soul-searching and finally decides between the two women in his life:

..
Alas for Lois, it's not to be, for this is actually Bizarro Superman.

But she gets her revenge for being made to look an idiot again...

...and explores her long-hidden dom side on Superman, who's been turned into a baby.

Meanwhile, Superman's found the girl of his dreams, little knowing she's Lois in a blonde wig.

But don't worry, he's probably a robot/a Superman double/Jimmy Olsen in a mask, as Clark knows.

And there's no real reason for this one, it just made me crack up:

And that's not even getting into Superman's spankbot or I Am Curious (Black) or the imaginary tales where Lois is Mrs Superman...
