Every post on my flist is about Doctor Who, and I do love a bandwagon...


I was completely spoiled. I knew that Rose became the vortex, that the Doctor kissed her and died when he took the vortex into hmiself (shades of Rose Walker from Sandman there, and if nobody's written that crossover yet I will), I knew Rose was the bad wolf, that she destroyed the Daleks, that Tennant was in it, that Jack died and was brought back to life, even that Jack got to kiss everyone...

Still ended up crying like an idiot. Especially at the Doctor's recorded message to Rose telling her what to do to the Tardis - walk away, leave it to gather dust and be forgotten.

I loved Mickey so much in this. Jack, too (and the kiss! The kiss! The rumours that the Doctor got to kiss a male companion have been on the go since episode 5 but somehow I didn't think it would get aired, and it was lovely). Unspoiled, Jack's death would have killed me. "Never doubted him. Never will" did that anyway. And Jack getting left behind because Rose doesn't remember what happened and the Doctor thinks he's dead... I suppose that explains why he's not in the first set of episodes next season.

The Doctor/Rose kiss - shades of Doyle/Cordelia and I was ready for it to be cheesy and I loved it anyway, especially that moment when she talks about experiencing everything all at once and he says, yes, that's how it is for him all the time. RTD, you're a filthy liar for saying all along that they never kiss, only what you actually said was "if they kiss the show would end". Which it did. You wily dog.

I've read lots of fic about Nine's regeneration and a lot of them were similar, Rose sobbing over his body, maybe Nine having an angsty deathbed soliloquoy; I love that he was able to explain to her what was happening, and that he was conscious and joking. "You were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And so was I." *sob*

God, David Tennant looks so young. Adorable though, and he was wonderful in Casanova, and I can't wait to see how he turns out.

And they have to go back for Jack. They *have* to.

Now I'm off to watch the Doctor/Rose, Jack/Rose, Doctor/Jack kissing several thousand times.

Now I'm sitting here sniffling all over again. The Jack/Doctor kiss was the Most. Romantic. Thing. Ever for a good five minutes. And Mickey! He was magnificent.

The Jack/Doctor kiss was so gentle! I'd heard something (my spoiler virginity was a bit compromised but not all-the-way) but I expected some jolly, flirty thing, not face-holding! Shame he won't be back for Christmas. Oh, the amount of Jackfic that could be written...

Mickey was great and so was Rose's mum. I also loved the way the regeneration was completely different to anything I'd seen before or imagined, but was somehow un-deathy.

The Kiss! My mum turned to me and asked, very seriously, if they were allowed to do that before the watershed. I didn't reply, seeing as how I was bouncing up and down squealing like a maniac. I loved the fact he kissed the Doctor in the EXACT same manner he kissed Rose. Aw.

And the regeneration was pitch perfect too.

I have never been so glad to be completely unspoiled. My heart sang, was broken, I wept, I laughed, I loved it utterly. The kisses were incredible. So tender. I keep rewatching JB talking about the kisses and blushing - almost as good as the kisses themselves.

And DT - way too young to be the Doctor. I feel like his Auntie. The Doctor should be older than me.

It was on DW Confidential, which might be up on some torrent sites - there's a 5 or 10 minute section where John Barrowman, Christopher Eccleston and RTD talk about the Doctor/Jack relationship and how the Doctor redeems him and how the kiss was, for once in Jack's life, not sexual but was intended to convey, quote, "I care about you, I love you deeply, and I have to save goodbye to you."

I was dead of squee *g*

The spoiler, which, okay, you knew already was that Jack is coming back, so it's more like speculation, but the thing that Barrowman said was that Jack will be back "with a vengeance". I didn't take it literally before. Now, after seeing tPotW, I kind of do. Baby got *abandoned*, right after being made a Better Man because of them. He won't just be pissed, he'll be ready to *kill*. (I hope.)

Heee. Questions were asked when he took the car in to be serviced about why there were handprints all over the hood... (JB's gay so I assume this was with a guy, though he doesn't specify in the article. He also rollerbladed down Fifth Avenue naked at three am. I love him a lot.)

It's all a bit weird because he was such a fixture of my childhood - I didn't remember till I saw his TV resume that he hosted Live & Kicking and The Movie Game, or that he's been in a ton of musicals. One of my housemates, thecount_ha, has a home video of himself at 11 pretending to be JB and asking his sisters film questions.

On the stalkery side of the force: one of my best friends, right? her boyfriend's BFF is a big hotshot architecht, and so knows a lot of the architecht people there, so I'm hoping that I only have a Three/Four/Five Degrees of Seperation from John Barrowman by Me - Friend's Boyfriend - BFF - JB's boyfriend - JB. Because, no, I haven't asked him, but I've had the stalkery thought in my mind since I read his boyfriend's an architecht. ;p

BTW, the 'splaining during the regeneration also sounds like an incredibly convenient way of saying to the (new, non-scifi, picked-up-by-advertising) audience, "Hi, this happens sometimes around here, so don't go switching off because we're doing something weirder than normal".

It was a nice explanation for kids, too - I imagine there were lots of confused little 8-year-olds wondering what the hell was going on.
