Jun. 7th, 2005 07:52 pmHello, hello what's all the shouting, we'll have no trouble here. I had a
lasultrix at my house all weekend, so there was much watching of Doctor Who and Blake's 7 and Black Books and very little checking of the flist, so if there's anything you've posted I need to see - link me? (Even though I know you're dying of petty collective jealousy since none of *you* had a
lasultrix this weekend.)
Now to poke her into writing that Five/Six angsty crack fic of doom...
ETA: random shallow commentary on some stuff I've seen in the past week or so -
Blake's 7
- Far better than I anticipated, given that it's a British 70s sci-fi show. I loved the look of Space Fall, the way everything shot on the prison ship looked grey (not to mention the officer carrying a thermos and some cups onto the bridge. Brits in space!)
- I love Avon.
- But not as much as he loves Blake.
- Somewhere on this big, wide internet, someone must have written Avon/Garak slash, and I must find it.
Star Trek: Nemesis
- They could just have called this Jean-Luc's Midlife Crisis, considering he appears at various times to perv on Riker, Troi, Worf, Beverly, Geordi, and his own clone. And he drives a dune buggy!
- Was that Rex Van De Kamp as the Enterprise's new first officer in the deleted scenes? Oh, there needs to be whacked-out crossover AU fic. Bree in Space!
- I thought it was enjoyably bad. I liked the clone's outfit. I was a bit unclear as to how he went from being a slave to having a fuckload of weaponry and technology beyond the scope of either the Romulans and the Federation, but as we were MSTing it I may have missed lines.
- I could have lived a long, long time without seeing Deanna Troi be raped by an orc.
Doctor Who: Earthshock
- I did feel a bit sorry for Adric at the end, but he makes me want to collapse in giggles every time his teen angst sulks across the screen. He reminds me far too much of Pitt the Younger from Blackadder.
- Five is too adorable for his own good. "You'll get awfully crumpled..."
- Cybermen!
