My mum had a go at watching the first five minutes of Doctor Who with me.

Mum: Is that girl...
Me: Billie Piper. She was married to Chris Evans.
Mum: Where do I know that actor from?
Me: He's Todd from Coronation Street.
Mum: I thought it was him. And who's that?
Me: That's the Doctor. Um, the actor's Christopher Eccleston. You won't have seen him in anything.
Mum: Who was the nice blond one who was a vet?
Me: Peter Davison, Mum.
Mum: [wistful] He was lovely.

Then after expressing surprise that 8 million people watch this (Davison-less) show, she wandered off, missing my glee at seeing Fran from Black Books play the doctor. Meanwhile, I freaked out at the realization that I fancy someone my *mother* fancies. Urgh.

This is the one I've been waiting for, Father's Day. Paradoxes and time loops, yay! Very interested that we saw two versions of the Doctor and Rose in the same place - I was wondering if they'd do that, have we ever seen that in the series before? Looks quite Back to the Future. This week's was too, actually, what with Adam trying to take information back to the past and make himself rich.

They've done one episode when a mid-1980's Brigadier met up with a late-1970's Brigadier (I don't recall exactly what happened, except that the timetravel pseudoscience caused a giant energy discharge when they touched, and the 70's Brig ended up with amnesia), and several where the Doctor met a previous regeneration of himself (which you probably knew already.)

I really shouldn't be reading your Dr. Who posts, we're two weeks behind you here...

I sort of hope there's a twist to next week. Cos, err, I can't really be arsed with Rose crying a lot. Umm. WAHHHH!! SAVE MEEEE!!

OH GOD.

Coronation Street.

I remember being in England and trying to get to the hotel in time to watch that.

And wake up early enough for Boohbah. You guys have the greatest television. *sad*

Oh my.

The Editor from the Long Game... was that actually the cool guy who likes the Stereophonics, or was I justblinded by Fran's presence? Cause that would be so perfect!

You've probably already seen this, but I came across this fabulous entry. It is called Livejournal of the Last Dalek (http://www.livejournal.com/users/die_fleiderhat/21906.html).

So, so funny.

Once again, I must say you have an excellent taste in TV shows :)
