doyle: tardis (3rd doctor)

(no subject)

Very sleepy. Need to stop watching The Five Doctors and go to bed.

I will more than likely be shunned by Who fandom if I admit to madly fancying Five, won't I? Oh, well.

Nah, I'm right there with you. Once I forgave him for taking Tom's place, Peter very much grew on me.

Oh, goodness, no, Five's wonderful. (You'll probably be shunned by some people, but chances are they're people who will make your life easier by shunning you. *g*)

Priot to Nine, Five was far and away my fave. I like 'em snarky and facetious.

I am utterly shallow; so far I like Five because he's pretty and blond.

I'm confused as to how old Turlough's supposed to be, since he looks about 30 but appears to be wearing a school uniform.

[identity profile] nothingbutfic.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Turlough's backstory (In Mawdryn Undead and Planet of Fire, two serials unlikely to be released on DVD any time before 2010) does explain some of that, and also leaves it open to a lot of fanwank. I just say he's younger than he looks, and the actor was early-mid 20s when he took the role?

And eee, where is that Three icon from?

[identity profile] doyle_sb4.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Made it from a Spearhead From Space screencap: it's the bit where he tries to make a break for it, before realizing the Tardis isn't working, leaving him to slink back into the lab looking terribly ashamed of himself. There's a great shot of Liz and the Brig giving him stern looks, I need to icon that one.

Feel free to grab it if you want.

[identity profile] nothingbutfic.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
I *thought* it was.

...You know you're a Who geek when you can tell specific shots down to the individual story. (I'm as bad as Nos. I's scary!)

I am so annoyed I can't see the new series and join in all the discussion.

Also, Liz and the Brig was the best thing about Three's stories.

The Mawdryn Undead is one of my favourites. It may not be available on dvd yet but you can pick it up on VHS from ebay for about 99p + P&P. Well worth it. I think there is a bit of slash potential between Five/Turlough.

When I was 12, my goal in life was to grow up, move to England and marry Peter Davison, so no, you won't hear any shunning coming from my end, either! *giggle*

[identity profile] spacecolonspace.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I always thought he had the best pants for the job.

Very aerodynamic. And stripey.

[identity profile] doyle_sb4.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
He dresses as if suspicious that at any moment the England cricket team might ring and tell him they're a player short. Unless he plays a lot of cricket in the Tardis by himself.

I don't know why he has a stick of celery on his lapel...

[identity profile] nothingbutfic.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
He picks it up in his opening story, and we find out why in his closing, I think...

God, you make me feel so old school!

[identity profile] spacecolonspace.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Or maybe the BBC had a surfeit of sweater vests and striped items to liquidate after Ford Prefect had no use for them?

As for the celery, a tasty pick me up, and a universal "hallmark of civilization."

No. Seriously (http://nzdwfc.tetrap.com/archive/tsv10/celery.html).

I *nearly* shunned you, because for a second there I miscounted and thought Five was Tom Baker. I mean - Tom, gotta love him, but *fancy*? Nuh-uh.

But Peter Davison? No, that's fine. You go right ahead :-)

[livejournal.com profile] davesangel would agree with you on Doc Five.

[identity profile] lukataintedlove.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I find it rather amusing that last night I also sat and watched The Five Doctors until I got too tired and went to bed.
Five is cute.

[identity profile] gilesbabe.livejournal.com 2005-04-30 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
My friends hooked me on the doctor during Tom's time, but he was kind of like the older brother, crazy uncle. But Peter, sigh. For a Time Lord he was awfully naive. I broke down and cried when he died.

You're not the only one who madly fancies Five. I always madly fancied him.

Five was my Doctor. (Still is *g*)
