Stuff completed, stuff still to do

Flashfic: done (at the last minute I completely scrapped the story I had and wrote a new one)

Next on the agenda: essay for the Andrew site. Was going to be about Xandrew, but it wants to be about Andrew's references to pop culture. Oh well, I can do both...

Essays, essays are good. I am a sci-fi geek, at least I follow the space channel. May I offer my assistance?

Absolutely! I'm going through the episodes Andrew's been in and noting any geek culture he's referenced. If you know anything about Dragonball Z it'd be a big help since that's the only thing so far I'm not sure about...

Well, I am actually...there are divisions in the sci-fi-dom

Such as
1. Dragon ball Z, comics, super heros.
2. Star Trek, Star Wars, X-files.
2a Star Trek, Outer Limits...mind and logic stuff
2b X-files, Galaxy Express 999...philosphey, symbolism...theories

I am a 2. More of a 2a. Ask me about Star Trek(All except DS9, I know original well though), Star Wars, Sci-fi horror flims(The Fly, Gozilla(Japanese and original one), Brain Scan, The Brain...and other spacecast specials), Lexx(some), Xena, Star Gates, Harry Potter, and general X-files.

Good, good... I know Star Trek (but not Enterprise), movies and comics.

That is wonderful. I love you Doyle. I would think of a flashy pop culture ref to express my love but I am too happy! Thanks!

:) Glad to help, and writing up the list of things Andrew's made reference to has made me realize what a geek I am... (he talks in Life Serial about "Data when the Enterprise kept blowing up, or Mulder in the episode where the bank kept exploding". I wrote "TNG: Cause and Effect" and "X-Files: The Pine Bluff Variant" without having to look anything up. That's nerdish...)

Cool! I'm looking forward to reading it. The prospect of writing Andrew scares me mainly because I know absolutely nothing about most of his sci-fi references -- I can barely understand what he says on-screen, I couldn't ever come up with them on my own. But if I had a handy how-to guide like that, it'd be perfect. Link us to it when it's up, k? :)

Will do! Even for a total nerd like me it gets complicated, I got into a complex debate last night with an equally nerdish friend over whether Andrew would have read (and therefore reference) the comic Preacher...
