Aunts and werewolves in Wodehouse:

I love how Bertie talks about it as if he knows many werewolves, and can therefore confidently count Aunt Dahlia in the jolly, breezy camp.

I can see Jeeves staking a vampire, tidily and without fuss for a clueless Fink-Nottle type, cowering in an armchair and saying calmly, 'Will that be all, sir? If you'll excuse me, I shall return with a dustpan immediately. Perhaps sir might care to take a bath to remove any stray pieces of your late uncle? And might I suggest that in future sir refrains from inviting in persons for whom he recently purchased a wreath of lilies? it never ends well.'

Oh definitely! Trained servants of Watchers, with young lads being taught how to iron a crease _and_ how to sharpen a stake, by their fathers. And well aware of way more than the Council realises.

It's just occured to me that even never having read a Jeeves and Wooster book or seen the series I couldstill hear their voices in my head when I read that. It appears that Jeeves and Wooster have kind of sunk into my mind through some weird cultural British thing. The Great British Hive-Mind perhaps?
