Apr. 7th, 2005 12:26 pmI'm watching Lost. Totally unspoiled, this week, and I'm 18 minutes in, so my reactions as we go:
*cringes at the collapsed lung and the tube, sobs for Boone* My poor baby.
There's a Mrs. Jack? Did we know this? I've missed some early episodes, so maybe we did.
Charlie, maybe you could be, I don't know, making yourself useful instead of hassling Jack about where Shannon is. You've got legs (albeit quite short ones), go and look for her. While we're on that, Jack, maybe you wouldn't have to tell people what to do and then shout it at them a second later if you'd trained Kate or Hurley or someone as backups or, ooh, talked them through delivering a baby, just in case you got eaten by a bear and they were left without a doctor.
Wait, are they having the reception before the wedding? And the future Mrs. Jack was a patient of his? I thought there was some big ethical thing against that? (And hmmm, was Jack some kind of miracle worker before the island, where he seems able to will people back to life.)
Claire in labour!
I think I'm a Shannon/Sayid shipper. The secret picnic was sweet (and gets them conveniently out of the way for plot purposes and later angst)
Oh, that song's called Heart and Soul? I always knew it as Memories (Things Ain't What They Used To Be).
Heee. At the end of the flashback, with the closeup of Jack staring thoughtfully - as he's wont to do - at his fiancee, and the voiceover of someone saying "Jack? Jack!" I thought he was having his flashback in real time, a la Joey Tribbiani and was just staring into space as Boone bled to death.
"How do I carry hot water?" I take it back. I'm far happier about Charlie being useless than the prospect of him delivering a baby. If I was Claire I'd be screaming for Sayid, Michael, Sawyer, polar bear, anyone to deliver it instead.
Oooh, Boone tells Jack about the plane and the hatch and Locke wanting him to keep it secret. We haven't seen Locke yet, actually...
Sayid/Shannon kiss! And she tells him the truth about Boone. Although 'he's kind of in love with me', as if she really can't be bothered with his silly crush. Bitch. ...wait, this sounds like she's proposing a threesome. I'd be all over that.
Aww, Jin trying to comfort Claire and her pouring her heart out, even though they don't understand a word the other's saying.
"You're looking kind of goth." Bwah!
HOLY FUCK THEY'RE GOING TO AMPUTATE HIS LEG WITH A CARGO HATCH.
You'd think it'd be easier if they slit her skirt, or pushed it up over her legs. Yeah, yeah, constraints of TV. At least she's wearing a skirt *deletes Farscape spoiler but will just say "pool" "through her pants"* Ahahaha, Jin keeps Charlie away. He's so wise.
Is there Jack/Boone slash? There should be.
Jack: I'm sorry.
Boone: Hold me.
Me: [blinks, replays.]
Boone: Don't be.
Oh, that makes more sense. Though is less interesting.
Aww, baby boy. Aww, Charlie/Jin hug. Bet she calls it Boone.
...oh, maybe he did say 'hold me'. Jack hugging Boone. I teared up.
Boone. I suspected all along he'd be the one to die, but I was holding out a shred of hope... *cries*
Claire happy with baby, surrounded by everyone, vs Sayid and Shannon by themselves, Jack going to tell them - I really liked how this scene played out, with no dialogue.
"He didn't die. He was murdered." Pretty sure that still means he died, Jack. "[I'm going] to find John Locke." Drama!
Is it next week yet?

on 2005-04-07 11:46 am (UTC)We didn't know about Mrs Jack! I was shocked, shocked!
THe speech future Mrs Jack made was the rehearsal dinner (usually held the night before the wedding for the wedding party and family), not the reception.
And yes, my poor baby!

NO NO NO NO NO NO
Plus what the hell is Jack thinking? His rational as to why Locke is a murderer makes no sense, cracksmoker! STOP MAKING DECISIONS WHEN YOU'RE ALL CRAZY, JACK!

on 2005-04-07 01:23 pm (UTC)Locke wouldn't hurt Boone! Locke loves Boone! What, he thinks Locke killed him by deliberately dropping a plane on him? And then carried him miles back to camp rather than letting him die in the jungle? Jack's logic is not our earth logic.no subject
on 2005-04-07 01:14 pm (UTC)and my poor boone!
wouldn't be surprised if claire names the baby boone; in fact, that's how i guessed it would be a boy.

on 2005-04-08 05:25 am (UTC)Poor Boone. He was so doomed. Did you think Jack actually understood what Boone said about the plane, or that he thought Boone was just delirious?
And Boone didn't say anything about the radio and the "There were no survivors of flight..". So I figure the Island needed Boone to die, because he's the only one who had that piece of info.

on 2005-04-07 01:30 pm (UTC)Jack isn't one for planning ahead or for really being that bright or pretty much anything except running around like a spazz and trying to be a hero. I still love them him though :)

on 2005-04-07 02:26 pm (UTC)We always called it Chopsticks...
I reckon she'll call the baby something earthy like a Phoenix family first name or something.
Though that would suck. She should call it Ethan ;-)

on 2005-04-07 04:02 pm (UTC)I was kinda hoping Boone would survive and Claire would die during childbirth. Now that would have been a twist. But then I started thinking about the shows budget issues and the cost of needed a baby every few eps compared to needed a missing leg via CGI every week. It's kind of a no brainer after that. Poor Boone. ::sniffles::

on 2005-04-07 07:13 pm (UTC)I was expecting Jack to leave her at the altar too. I wonder what happened to her.. I've never seen a wedding ring on him and he doesn't seem to miss her at all.

on 2005-04-07 07:36 pm (UTC)And, no -- we never knew that Jack was married. But it was kind of an AwwwWTF!? moment for me.
Is there Jack/Boone slash? There should be.
Oh, I hope so.
Plus, the show is going on a hiatus, again. The next ep is going to air two weeks from now, I think.
::pets her crying Shannon icon::

on 2005-04-19 03:11 am (UTC)And, it's so cool to find a fellow House UK, fan, it's just started on Hallmark and I'm really enjoying it, I get the same shivers with it the way I used to with CSI. I've added you tomy friends list, even if you are a mad a Doctor Who fan, lol.
