Is there a tool that lets you see the difference between friends and friends-of list? Because I just checked my userinfo for the first time in ages and realized that, unlike the 600 I thought I had, I'm 16 people away from maxing out my list. Um. Wow. Defriending I go. I'm guessing about 50 of the list people defriended me ages ago and I just never noticed, hence the need for the tool...

*fafs about for twenty minutes trying to pare down the list. Manages to cut about five people.*

(ETA: if anyone's curious, by the way, I very rarely read on filters or use the 'only people/only communities' thing. Because yep, I'm O-C and a procrastinator.)

My list is nowhere near as big as yours, but I use http://marnanel.org/joule to at least see who has defriended me.

My problem is people who've defriended then refriended me, causing untold havoc and confusion *g*

Well how dare they? If they didn't have the good sense to keep you, they shouldn't get to come crawling back . . . ;)

Heee. I definitely don't fling myself on them in joy and promise to change. No. Except I do *g*

You tell easily in semagic who you have friended who hasn't friended you back by the color of the arrows, but I don't know about other tools.

*facepalm* I didn't even think of looking in Semagic. Thanks!

In theory, you should be able to tell by the bolded names in your userinfo, but mine seem to be bold entirely at random...

You apparently have too many friends and have blown out the system! :)

And I can indeed type proper sentences with actual complete verbs in them, despite what my earlier comment illustrates. Really. *puts her head down on her desk and takes a nap*

This should work: http://forbidden.dough.net/~archon/cgi-bin/ljfrcomp.cgi

Hmm, it's not giving me any results...

I always thought that the bolded names were friends who friended me, but, you're right - mine are all mixed up!

Plus, I tried that link as well and it didn't work for me either :(

Bolded names are everyone you've friended. So non-bolded names in your friend-of list are people who have friended you but you don't have friended back. Thus, it's fairly easy to notice if a brand new person has added you, but freakishly hard to figure out at a glance when someone on your flist has just added you back.

But there are lots of non-bolded names who I do have friended...

Then I guess you did break it by having so many friends, but in a different way than you thought. *g*

Completely OT, but your Apu icon made me laugh out loud.

If the Semagic trick doesn't work, you can also go into your Personal Info and turn on the Mutual Friends option, which will put everyone who you list as a friend who lists you as a friend back into their own nice neat group. Semagic is probably infinitely easier to work with as far as that goes, though.

Well, one helpful thing is selecting the "show mutual friends" in your User Info. That will make a seperate colum of "also friend of" which allows you to choose a little easier. You've got a full 200 people that haven't friended you back that you could cut.

That's what's confusing me - I got it working in Semagic, and there are about 35 people showing with the little blue arrows, meaning I have them friended but they haven't friended me. You're right, it should be 200. Maybe it's counting communities, most of which I defriend but never bother to leave?

Yeah, it's counting the communities. Does the same thing with me.

Seriously, girl? Filters are your best friend. Especially the ?show=P or ?show=C filters. It's the only way I can keep up, and I've only got 300-something friends and 80 communities. *boggles*

I have no idea how you manage to keep up. I'm filtered up the wazoo, and I only have 100-odd on the flist, and I nearly busted myself during the Honours project phase.

You can't let me go! You're my bestest new House friend lover (what a long ass phrase)! I enjoy reading your tid bits concerning the show, then secretly squeeing along with you and all the others. ::G::

Heee! *clings* Trust me, nobody in House fandom is going anywhere from my list, whether they have me friended back or not *g*
