Mar. 30th, 2005 10:15 pmOkay, reading things out of context is confusing. Especially when the last scene of an episode is House on the operating table, a Six Feet Under-esque fade to white, and the flatline noise.
Luckily, his heart starts again.
Even luckier, this was all however-many years ago when he had the... infarction? (The sides say aneurysm) Looks like a flashback episode, framed as a lecture House is forced into giving a class of medical students - of course, he lies like hell, and it looks like quite late on that we realize the patient he's talking about is himself.
The infamous Stacy's in this episode, both in the flashback and the present day (she's now married, which House didn't know.) In the past, as he goes under the anaesthetic, he tells her he loves her; she says she's sorry. Confused, he starts to say she has nothing to be sorry for, but he loses consciousness.
Other characters: ducklings are solving the case of the week (flesh-eating virus, I think), Wilson's nowhere to be found.
Is it time for new episodes yet? (Yeah, we just had one. I'm a greedy so-and-so.) Love Foreman this week, by the way.

on 2005-03-31 01:00 pm (UTC)And I *so* want Wilson in the flashback. (One thing that confused me is that Cuddy seems to be there in the past, when House was already on Vicodin when she hired him according to Detox. Could just be weirdness just to the overlapping stories, though - the episode's called "Three Stories" and some of it seems a bit like Storyteller from Buffy S7. My friend Kevin says he's holding out hopes that we see the mdeical students in the lecture theatre from House's POV, as a crowd of jibbering chimps.)

on 2005-03-31 05:37 pm (UTC)I saw the sides earlier and that confused me too. My guess is that at the point in time of the flashbacks House isn't working for Cuddy. Perhaps this was even her first introduction to him - as a patient. Wowed by his brilliant mind she offered him a position on her staff shortly thereafter.
BTW, since I've enjoyed your thoughts on the show and you save me the headache of tracking down spoilage at house_md I think I'm going to go ahead and friend you. But, please, please, please don't feel like you need to friend me back. I just read how you are trimming your list and I don't want to add to your burden. ;)
