Commence fangirling in 5, 4...

[livejournal.com profile] connorbeast and I just got back from seeing First Daughter at the cinema. Our housemates declined to join us. For some reason they can resist Marc Blucas's siren call. I just looked the movie up on rottentomatoes.com where it's completely panned by the critics. Fah, I say. This is the bestest movie ever (at least until Ice Princess comes out). We're buying it on playusa.com as I speak.

Admittedly, it might as well be called A Very Buffy/Riley Movie, so that's going to put a lot of Buffy-watching types right off...

So Sam (thingummy from Dawson's Creek. Joey.) is the President's daughter... you might say she's been chosen, since she complains about how she never had any choice in this and her parents keep telling her that that's just tough, she has responsibilities to slay vampires support her dad's campaign. She starts college hoping to be a normal student and meets James (Marc Blucas!), an RA who seems nice and funny and normal and all that jazz. And the twist - oh noes! - is that he's in the Initiative Secret Service and he's actually a plain clothes bodyguard. Teh angst! And there is dancing and Marc Blucas without his shirt and Sam's roommate is ridiculously cute and her parents are fairly obvious George W. and Laura Bush. The dialogue and writing's a lot better than I would have expected from this kind of movie. In conclusion, Riley!

I've mentioned I really, really loved the movie, right?

FD LURVE! Yis! *dances with you* I own it. I have watched it waaaaaaaaaaay too often. I have loved the extended scenes waaaaaaaaaaaay too much.

In conclusion - he should take off his shirt more, like he did in Buffy.

PS - you have seen "They" right? Right?!?

I haven't but [livejournal.com profile] connorbeast says MB plays a fireman? I must see!

As scary movies go, it's not exactly going to give you nightmares. But Marc plays a paramedic and he's gorgeous in his underwear.

This alone is reason enough for me to own said movie. Also it dig creep me out and make me all jumpy.

I've seen it. "They" a film with too little Riley time.

And yet the time he is onscreen? Quality. I would like to publicly thank the costumer of "They" if only for the shot of Marc leaping out of bed in his underwear to answer the door when looney GF comes to him for help.

Thank you, costumer. Thank you. *weeps in gratitude*

Heeee. I saw that on the plane over to England last month. But I am like twenty million times more excited about THE ICE PRINCESS!!! In the trailer, a girl tells Dawnie she's hot! Girlslash! Heh.

Also Dawn being taught to skate by Kim Cattrall. I mean, it'd be better if she was being trained as an assassin. But the skating thing's good too.

It wasn't the best movie ever, but it was sweet and fun and I enjoyed it :)

I was never a big Riley fan, but every time I see Marc Blucas in an ad for a movie I squee. Loudly.
